MATAMATA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order making Special Rate.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, the Matamata County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,200, authorized to be raised by the Matamata County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for bridge-construction over the Waikato River and road-formation through part of the Horahora Estate, the Matamata County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 2½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Horahora Bridge and Road-construction Special Rating Area, comprising Section C or 2, Section D or 4, Section E or 6, and Section G or 7 of the Horahora Estate, within the Maungatautari Riding, Matamata County; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off, the rate of interest to be £3 10s. per centum per annum. It is proposed to pay the cost of raising the loan and the interest for the first year out of the loan.

The above resolution was duly passed as a special order at a special meeting of the Matamata County Council held on the 30th day of November, 1910, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the said Council held on the 9th day of January, 1911.

Special Order made by the Council of the Borough of Waitara.

THE following special order, made by the Waitara Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

BOROUGH OF WAITARA.
Special Order made by the Council of the Borough of Waitara striking a Special Rate for Repayment of a Loan.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the Waitara Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing for the repayment of the loan of £20,000, and the interest thereon, and the sinking fund by the periodical payments as required by the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909, and the charges and expenses incident to or connected therewith, which loan was authorized to be raised by the Waitara Borough Council under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, for the following purposes—construction of waterworks for the supply of pure water for the use of the inhabitants of the borough and shipping in the Port of Waitara, £16,000; construction and improvements of streets, £3,000; construction of drainage and sanitation works within the borough, £1,000: total, £20,000—the Waitara Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1 9/32d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Waitara, comprising the whole of the Borough of Waitara; and that such rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan; and shall be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being for a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is full paid off.

Passed at a special meeting of the Council of the Borough of Waitara held on the 7th day of December, 1910, and confirmed as a special order at the ordinary meeting of the Council held on the 4th day of January, 1911.

The common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the Borough of Waitara was hereto affixed by order of the Council, in the presence of—

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

PUKEKOHE TOWN DISTRICT.
Notice of the Result of the Poll upon Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Pukekohe Town District was taken on the 10th day of January, 1911, upon the proposal of the Pukekohe Town Board to borrow the sum of £13,000 to provide for water-supply, recreation-ground, and formation of roads.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 91. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 2. I therefore declare that the said proposal was carried.

AUCKLAND HARBOUR.—O’NEILL’S POINT WHARF.—MAGNETIC BEARING OF LEADING LIGHTS.

WITH reference to Notice to Mariners No. 2 of the 11th instant, notifying the exhibition of the two leading lights on the wharf at O’Neill’s Point, in Auckland Harbour, mariners and others are hereby notified that the lights are in line from seaward on a bearing of N. 10° W. (magnetic).

Notice to Mariners No. 5 of 1911.

TOKOMARU BAY.—LEADING BEACONS ERECTED.

Wellington, N.Z., 13th January, 1911.

THE Waiapu County Council has notified that two leading beacons have been erected on the shore of Tokomaru Bay to indicate as nearly as possible the middle of the stretch of water between Hikutu Rock and the end of the reef projecting from Kotunui Point. The first beacon is about 60 yards back from the beach, and 40 ft. above ordinary high water, and the rear beacon 150 yards back standing on ground 99 ft. above high water.

The beacons in line with one another bear N. 84° W. magnetic, and the line produced passes through Marotiri.
