Land taken for Protective Works, Awamoko Stream, Steward Settlement, Block I, Awamoko Survey District, Waitaki County.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under the Public Works Act, 1908, for a certain public work, to wit, for the purposes of protective works, Awamoko Stream, Steward Settlement, Block I, Awamoko Survey District :
And whereas all conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land for the purposes hereinbefore specified have been observed and performed :
Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the said protective works; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the twentieth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this thirtieth day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

Land taken for a Waterwork in Blocks III, Port Nicholson, and XI, Belmont Survey Districts, Makara County, the Onslow Borough, and the Johnsonville Town District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under the Town Boards Act, 1908, and the Public Works Act, 1908, for the purposes of a waterwork in Makara County, the Onslow Borough, and the Johnsonville Town District :
And whereas an agreement has been entered into with the owners of the said land to take the said land for the purpose above mentioned :
And whereas the Johnsonville Town Board has laid before the Governor a memorial, together with a map, in duplicate, as required by the said Act :
Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Town Boards Act, 1908, and the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, and being satisfied of the sufficiency of the agreement hereinbefore referred to, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a water-
work, and shall vest in the Corporation of the Chairman, Members, and Inhabitants of the Johnsonville Town District as from the date hereinafter mentioned; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the twentieth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

Lands reserved under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), a Scenery Preservation Board is constituted, and it is enacted that such Board shall, when so directed by the Minister charged for the time being with the administration of the said Act, inspect any lands possessing scenic or historic interest, or on which there are thermal springs, and make inquiries respecting the same, and report to the Governor; and shall from time to time recommend what lands, whether Crown or private, shall be permanently reserved as scenic, thermal, or historic reserves : And whereas the said Board was duly directed to inspect and report on the lands described in the Schedule hereunder, and has recommended that the said lands should be permanently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation :
Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereunder shall be scenic reserves under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and subject to the provisions thereof.
SCHEDULE.
RAPAHOE RANGE SCENIC RESERVE.
ALL that area in the Westland Land District, containing by admeasurement 1,700 acres, more or less, being Reserve No. 974, situated in Blocks II and IV, Cobden Survey District, and bounded as follows: Starting at the south-west corner of Rural Section 162 of Square 119 on the eastern side of Stafford Street in the Town of Cobden, and proceeding thence along the western boundary of said section 2332 links, and along its north-eastern boundary fronting a public road 1000 links; thence by the abutment of said road, 100 links; thence by the western boundary of Section 1 of Block IV, Cobden Survey District, 7213·2 links; thence across a road,
