Allocating Land reserved and taken for a Railway to the
Purposes of a Road at Maharahara, in the County of
Woodville.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule
hereto forms part of land taken for the purposes
of the Wellington-Napier Railway, and it is considered
desirable to allocate such land to the purposes of a road :
And whereas it has been certified by the Minister of
Railways that such land is not required for railway pur-
poses : And whereas such land is situated in the County
of Woodville, the local authority of which has assented
to the issue of this Proclamation :
And whereas His Excellency the Governor is of opinion
that the said local authority can conveniently construct
and maintain the said road :
Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder,
Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New
Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and
authorities vested in me by section one hundred and
ninety-seven of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every
other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this
behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land
described in the Schedule hereto shall, upon the publication
hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, become a road, and
that the said road shall be under the control of the Wood-
ville County Council, and shall be maintained by the said
Council in like manner as other public highways are con-
trolled and maintained by the said Council.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Land District of Hawke’s
Bay, containing an area of 1 acre and 28 perches, more
or less, being a portion of railway land at Maharahara,
situate in Oringi Waiaruhe Native Block, in the Taho-
raite Survey District, and being bounded as follows : On
the west by the western boundary of the railway reserve,
a distance of 100 links ; on the south by the southern
boundary of the railway reserve, a distance of 1177·8 links ;
on the east by the western side of a road forming the
eastern boundary of the railway reserve, a distance of
100·1 links ; and on the north by a line at a bearing of
267° 5′, a distance of 1172·6 links : as the said parcel
of land is more particularly delineated on the plan marked
W.R. 18443, deposited in the office of the Minister of
Railways, at Wellington, and thereon coloured purple.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable John Poynder Dickson-Poynder,
Baron Islington, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of
New Zealand and its Dependencies ; and issued
under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-
fifth day of March, in the year of our Lord one
thousand nine hundred and eleven.

Additional Land at Te Kuiti taken for the Purposes of the
North Island Main Trunk Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use, con-
venience, and enjoyment of the North Island Main
Trunk Railway to take further land at Te Kuiti, in addition
to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said
railway :
Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron
Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me
by sections twenty-nine and one hundred and eighty-eight
of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power
and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do
hereby proclaim and declare that the lands mentioned in
the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for the purposes above
mentioned.
