to be raised by the Tauhei Drainage Board, under the
above-mentioned Act, for drainage-works, including taking
of levels and preliminary survey, as well as widening,
deepening, and constructing drains in the Tauhei Drainage-
area, the said Tauhei Drainage Board hereby makes and
levies a special rate of 3d. in the pound upon the rateable
value of all rateable property of the Tauhei Drainage
District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-
recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and to be
payable half-yearly on the 31st day of March and the
30th day of September in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years
and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The above resolution was passed at a special meeting
of the Tauhei Drainage Board held on the 7th day of
February, 1911, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting
held on the 7th day of March, 1911.

Road Board, is published in accordance with the

AVONDALE ROAD BOARD.
Special Order.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Road Boards Act, 1908, the Avondale
Road Board hereby resolves as follows: That the number
of members of the Avondale Road Board be increased to
seven, and that a poll for the election of the two additional
members be held in the first week in May, 1911.
Passed at a special meeting of the Avondale Road
Board held on the 1st day of February, 1911, and duly
confirmed at the ordinary meeting of the Board held on
the 1st day of March, 1911.
I hereby certify that the above special order was passed
in accordance with the Road Boards Act, 1908.

Palmerston North.

North Borough Council, is published in accordance
with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

PALMERSTON NORTH BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Special Order making Special Rate.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the
Borough Council of the Borough of Palmerston North
hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of
providing the interest and other charges on a loan of
£6,500, authorized to be raised by the Borough Council
of the Borough of Palmerston North, under the above-
mentioned Act, for the purpose of raising the dam at the
head of the waterworks at Tiritea to a height of 50 ft.,
to provide additional storage of water, the said Borough
Council of the Borough of Palmerston North hereby makes
and levies a special rate of 1/11 of a penny in the pound
sterling upon the rateable value of all the rateable pro-
perty of the Borough of Palmerston North (on the basis
of the unimproved value), comprising the district bounded
towards the north-east by a straight line, being the north-
eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 389 and 420, and a
straight line joining the said north-eastern boundaries,
12550 links; towards the east and south-east by the
Manawatu River, 36400 links, and Section No. 371, 177
links; towards the south-west by Sections Nos. 371, 372,
373, and 374, 6250 links, and by Section No. 370, 3000
links, and by Section 350 and across a public road, 8200
links; and towards the north-west by a public road,
being the north-western boundary of Section No. 558, 177
links, and by a public road, 27300 links: and that such
special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the
currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the
1st day of June and the 1st day of December in each and
every year during the currency of such loan, being for a
period until the 1st day of October, 1917, or until the loan
is fully paid off.
We hereby certify that the above resolution was passed
at a special meeting of the Palmerston North Borough
Council held on the 7th day of February, 1911, and con-
firmed at an ordinary meeting of the Council held on the
7th day of March, 1911.

Special Order.
THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in
it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,
the Horowhenua County Council hereby resolves as fol-
lows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest
and other charges on a loan of £500, authorized to be
raised by the Horowhenua County Council, under the
above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of metalling Rewa
Rewa and Rata Streets, in the Township of Tokomaru,
and forming the said Rewa Rewa Street, and also metalling
portion of Tawa Street, the said Horowhenua County
Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 11/10
of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all
rateable properties in the Rewa Rewa Special Rating Dis-
trict, comprising Sections 1, 2, 3, and 4 of 64, 9/13, 16,
43/5, 62, 3, 39 of 187, 1, 33/4, 38, 50/5, 40, 7 of 61, 48
of 61, 49, 66, 68, 35, 36, 37, 41/2, 18/9, 46, 2, 4, 17, 47,
14/15, 8, 189/95, 1/14 of 197/8, 15, 16 of 197/8, 196,
199/201, Township of Tokomaru, and parts Sections 46
and 48, Block I, Mount Robinson Survey District; as the
same is shown on the plan, and coloured red; and that
such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during
the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st June
in each and every year during the currency of such loan,
being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the
loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct
copy of a special order adopted at a special meeting of
the Horowhenua County Council held on the 8th October,
1910, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting held on the
12th November, 1910.

the Horowhenua County Council hereby resolves as fol-

raised by the Horowhenua County Council, under the
above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of constructing a
bridge over the railway-line at Buckley Crossing, the said
Horowhenua County Council hereby makes and levies a
special rate of 8/25 of a penny in the pound on the rate-
able value of all rateable property in the Buckley Over-
bridge Special Rating District, comprising Sections
parts 9, 10, 11, and 12, Block XI, Mount Robinson Survey
District; part Section 704, Shannon; Section 5, Block XI,
Mount Robinson; part Section 1, Block XV, Mount
Robinson; parts 2 and 3, Block X, part 2, Block XI,
part 3, Block XI, 1, Block XI, parts 1 and 2, Block X,
and part 2, Block XI, Mount Robinson Survey District:
