THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

1908, in exchange for the fee-simple of any other land which in his opinion is of approximately equal value, and that all land acquired by the Crown by any such exchange shall become Crown land, and be subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908 :
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to exchange the Crown land described in the first column of the Schedule hereto for the land described in the second column of the said Schedule, and the owner of the land described in the second column of the said Schedule has agreed to such exchange :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the said section one hundred and forty-two, doth hereby declare that it is his intention to grant in fee-simple the area of Crown land described in the first column of the Schedule hereto in exchange for the fee-simple of the area of land described in the second column of the said Schedule.

All that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 88 acres, more or less, being Section No. 3, Block I, Waikohu Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by Section No. 27, Block I aforesaid, 2489·3 links, a public road, 3366·6 links, across the said road, 106·2 links, and by Section No. 26, 228·8 links ; towards the north-east by the Waihuka Block, 3856·3 links ; towards the south-east by Okahuatiu No. 1c Block, 8243·2 links ; and towards the west by Section No. 27 aforesaid, 486·5 links : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less : excluding the road which intersects the above-described area : as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 6003/60, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Bounded towards the north-west by Section No. 27, Block I aforesaid, 5178·6 links ; towards the east by the other part of Okahuatiu No. 1c Block, 3939 links ; and towards the south-west by Okahuatiu No. 1 Block, 5279·5 links : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less : as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 6003/60, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Opening Land in Marlborough Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

ISLINGTON, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the nineteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule ; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to section one hundred and thirty-five of the said Act, as it contains, or is supposed to contain, metal, mineral, or valuable stone.

Situated on the southern shore of the entrance to Endeavour Inlet, in Queen Charlotte Sound ; distant about twenty miles from Picton by launch service. The soil is generally inferior and stony, with dry birch-covered ridges, and deep gullies in which there is a little good birch timber. The aspect is good. The land is well watered, and much of the timber along the shore is available for shipment as fuel. An antimony claim was once worked upon this section.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Tuesday, the twenty-fifth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule ; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.
