Date of Election to fill Extraordinary Vacancies in certain Fire Boards by Insurance Companies.

PURSUANT to the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, and the rules made thereunder, I, David Buddo, Minister of Internal Affairs, being the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the 22nd day of March, 1911, to be the day for holding an election of one member of
The Dannevirke Fire Board,
The Masterton Fire Board, and
The Petone Fire Board
by the insurance companies concerned, such election being held to fill the extraordinary vacancy caused by the resignation of Charles Pearce as a member of the said Fire Boards.
And, in further pursuance of the said Act and the rules made thereunder, I do also hereby appoint Tuesday, the 21st day of March, 1911, to be the day for holding an election of one member of the Hawera Fire Board by the insurance companies concerned, such election being held to fill the extraordinary vacancy caused by the resignation of Harold Frederick John Tewsley as a member of the said Fire Board.

Special Orders made by the Council of the County of Pohangina.

THE following special orders, made by the Pohangina County Council, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

POHANGINA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Orders.
THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909, and the amendments thereof respectively, together with all other Acts enabling the Council in that behalf so to do, the Council of the County of Pohangina hereby resolves, by way of special order, to borrow the sum of £1,000, such loan to be used for the purpose of erecting a bridge over the Oroua River at Parsons Ford and constructing the necessary approaches thereto; and that the interest and sinking fund on the said loan shall not exceed £3 10s. per centum per annum, payable half-yearly on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until such loan is fully paid off.
Special Order making Special Rate.
That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909, and the amendments to these Acts respectively, together with all other Acts enabling the Council in that behalf so to do, the Council of the County of Pohangina hereby resolves by way of special order as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £1,000, authorized to be raised by the said Council of the County of Pohangina, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of erecting a bridge over the Oroua River at Parsons Ford and constructing the necessary approaches thereto, the said Council of the County of Pohangina hereby makes and levies a special rate of 53/64 of a penny in the pound sterling upon the rateable value of the undermentioned rateable property in the Coal Creek Riding, being Sections 4, 5, 6, 8, 11A, and 12A, Block II, Pohangina Survey District; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until such loan is fully paid off, the interest of such loan being £3 10s. per centum per annum.
I, Robert Workman Brown, Chairman of the Pohangina County Council, do hereby certify that the above special order was duly made and passed at a special meeting of the Pohangina County Council held on the 14th day of January, 1911, and was duly confirmed at a special meeting of the said Pohangina County Council held on the 11th day of February, 1911.
In testimony whereof the common seal of the Pohangina County Council was hereunto affixed.
