local authorities to be the principal authority for the purposes of such election :

And whereas by Order in Council dated the twenty-seventh day of February, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the second day of the following month, the Governor did, by Order in Council, select and appoint certain local authorities to be the principal authorities for the purposes of the election of members of the Harbour Boards set forth therein by the electors of combined districts :

And whereas it is desirable to amend the said Order in Council in respect of the Lyttelton Harbour Board, and to select and appoint the principal authority for the purposes of the election of a member of the Auckland Harbour Board by the electors of the County of Manukau, in which county the Counties Act, 1908, is not in force :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon him by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend the said Order in Council of the twenty-seventh day of February, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, in respect of the Lyttelton Harbour Board, by deleting the word “Spreydon” from the list of counties constituted out of the County of Selwyn, and by adding after the words “Selwyn and Springs” the words “and the Borough of Spreydon.”

And His Excellency the Governor, in exercise of the hereinbefore-recited powers and authorities, and with the like advice and consent, doth hereby select and appoint the Otahuhu Road Board, being one of the Road Boards in the County of Manukau, to be the principal authority for the election of a member of the Auckland Harbour Board by the electors of the County of Manukau.

Fixing Settings of Court of Appeal.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this fourth day of March, 1911.

WHEREAS by the Judicature Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Court of Appeal shall hold its settings at such times and places as shall from time to time be fixed by the Governor in Council, and proclaimed in the Government Gazette twenty-one days at least before the times so fixed respectively :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby fix that settings of the Court of Appeal of New Zealand shall be held within the Supreme Courthouse, in the City of Wellington, upon the following days, at eleven o’clock in the forenoon :—

Monday, the third day of April, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

Monday, the third day of July, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

Monday, the second day of October, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

Lake Hayes, Queenstown, to be a Sanctuary for Imported and Native Game.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

PURSUANT to the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the fresh-water lake known as Lake Hayes, near Queenstown, Wakatipu, and an area half a mile in width surrounding the said lake, shall be a sanctuary for the purposes of the said Animals Protection Act, and that no imported game or native game shall be taken or killed within the said area.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

Regulations for Deer-shooting, Wairarapa.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby make the following regulations prescribing the deer-shooting season in that part of the Wellington Acclimatization District comprised in the County of Featherston (excepting that portion of the said county lying to the westward of the Wellington-Napier Railway line, and also excepting therefrom the area described in the First Schedule hereto), and the conditions affecting the same, and also the form of license and the fee payable therefor.


REGULATIONS.

  1. RED-DEER stags may be taken or killed within the above-mentioned part of the Wellington Acclimatization District from the 1st day of April, 1911, to the 15th day of May, 1911 (both days inclusive).

  2. Licenses to take or kill such deer may be issued by the Chief Postmaster at Wellington, and the Postmasters at Masterton, Carterton, Greytown, Featherston, and Martinborough, on payment of a license fee of £2, in the form prescribed in the Second Schedule hereto, and subject to the said Act and these regulations: Provided that not more than one such license shall be issued to the same person.

  3. No licensee shall take or kill more than four stags, and no stag shall be killed carrying antlers with less than ten points.

  4. No hind or fawn shall be taken or killed on any pretext whatever; and no licensee shall allow any dog to accompany either himself or any attendant he may have with him.

  5. Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing any person to sell any deer or portion thereof.

  6. Any person committing a breach of any of these regulations shall be liable, on conviction, to a fine not exceeding £20.


FIRST SCHEDULE.

All that area of land in the Huangarua Survey District, in the Counties of Featherston and Wairarapa South, being Sections 29 to 41 (inclusive), 59, 71, 72, 75, 79, 83, 90, 93, 97, 98, and part of Sections 70, 74, 78, 82, 86, 89, 92, 91, 94, 95, 96, 87, and 84, now in the occupation of Mr. John Martin and Mr. Featherston Johnston, and known as the Puruatanga Estate or Station.


SECOND SCHEDULE.

License to take or kill Game (Deer).

, of , having this day paid the sum of £ , is hereby authorized to take or kill red-deer stags, of not less than points, within the County of Featherston, in the Wellington Acclimatization District, except in the areas described in the indorsement hereon, from the day of , 1911, to the day of , 1911 (both days inclusive), subject to the provisions of the Animals Protection Act, 1908, and all regulations thereunder in force within the said district.

Stratford Acclimatization District appointed.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint those parts of the said Dominion, being all that area comprised in the Counties of Stratford and Whangamomona, together with the Borough of Stratford, to be a district under and for the purposes of the said Act, and I do hereby declare that such district shall be known as the “Stratford Acclimatization District.”

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fourth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.
