Appointing Principal Authorities for the Election of Members of Harbour Boards by the Electors of Combined Districts.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of February, 1911.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, K.C.M.G., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it is provided by section seven of the Harbours Amendment Act, 1910 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), that in any case where by the said Act or any special Act one or more members of a Harbour Board are to be elected by all or some only of the electors of two or more local authorities jointly (hereinafter referred to as a “combined district”) the Governor shall by Order in Council select and appoint one of those local authorities to be the principal authority for the purposes of such election:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby select and appoint the local authorities set forth in the third column of the Schedule hereto to be the respective principal authorities for the combined districts set forth in the second column of the said Schedule, for the purposes of the elections under the said Act of certain members of the Harbour Boards in whose district the combined districts are respectively situated.

SCHEDULE.

Auckland The City of Auckland and the Borough of Grey Lynn Auckland City Council.
The Boroughs of Devonport, Birkenhead, and Northcote Devonport Borough Council.
The Boroughs of Parnell, Newmarket, and Onehunga Parnell Borough Council.
The Remuera, Arch Hill, Eden Terrace, Epsom, Mount Albert, Mount Roskill, Mount Wellington, Avondale, Point Chevalier, Tamaki West, One-tree Hill, Panmure, and Orakei Road Districts, the Borough of Mount Eden, and the Ellerslie Town District Mount Eden Borough Council.
The Counties of Raglan and Waikato and the Borough of Hamilton Hamilton Borough Council.
Bluff The County of Waipa and the Borough of Cambridge Cambridge Borough Council.
The Boroughs of Invercargill and South Invercargill Invercargill Borough Council.
Lyttelton The Boroughs of Gore and Mataura Gore Borough Council.
The Boroughs of Kaiapoi and Rangiora, the Road Districts of Rangiora, Eyreton, West Eyreton, Cust, and Oxford Kaiapoi Borough Council.
The Counties of Cheviot, Amuri, and Waipara, the Town Districts of Mackenzie and Amberley, and the Road Districts of Kowai and Ashley Kowai Road Board.
The County of Ashburton and the Borough of Ashburton Ashburton Borough Council.
The County of Tawera, and the following counties which have been constituted out of the County of Selwyn: Malvern, Paparua, Heathcote, Halswell, Ellesmere, Spreydon, Selwyn, and Springs Paparua County Council.
The Boroughs of New Brighton, Sumner, Woolston, Lyttelton, and Akaroa, and the Counties of Akaroa, Wairewa, and Mount Herbert Woolston Borough Council.
Napier That portion of the County of Wairoa within the Riding of Mohaka, and that part of the County of Hawke’s Bay within the harbour district Hawke’s Bay County Council.
The Borough of Waipawa and the County of Waipawa Waipawa County Council.
The Town District of Waipukurau and the County of Waipukurau Waipukurau Town Board
Those parts of the Town District of Otane and County of Patangata within the harbour district Patangata County Council.
New Plymouth The Borough of New Plymouth, and the Town Districts of Fitzroy and St. Aubyn New Plymouth Borough Council.
The Boroughs of Inglewood, Stratford, and Eltham Stratford Borough Council.
Those parts of the Counties of Egmont and Taranaki within the harbour district Taranaki County Council.
Those parts of the Counties of Stratford and Whangamomona within the harbour district Stratford County Council.
Those parts of the Counties of Eltham and Hawera within the harbour district Eltham County Council.
Otago The City of Dunedin and the Borough of St. Kilda Dunedin City Council.
The Boroughs of Port Chalmers and West Harbour Port Chalmers Borough Council.
Boroughs of Maori Hill, Roslyn, and Mornington Roslyn Borough Council.
The Counties of Taieri and Waikouaiti, that portion of the County of Waihemo not included in the Oamaru Harbour District, the Bay Town District, and the Peninsula, Tomahawk, Portobello, and Otakau Road Districts The Taieri County Council.
Patea The Counties of Bruce, Tuapeka, Maniototo, and Clutha Bruce County Council.
The Borough of Patea and the Waverley Town District subdivision of the harbour district Patea Borough Council.
Timaru The Tengawai and Point Ridings of the Levels County Council Levels County Council.
The Seadown and Waimataitai Ridings of the Levels County Levels County Council.
The Gleniti, Claremont, and Otipua Ridings of the Levels County Levels County Council.
The Borough of Geraldine and the Road District of Geraldine Geraldine Road Board.
The Borough of Temuka and the Road District of Temuka The Temuka Road Board.
The Otaio Riding of the Waimate County, and that part of the Pareora Riding of the same county within the harbour district The Waimate County Council.
The Borough of Waimate, the Makikihi and Deep Creek Ridings of the Waimate County, and that part of the Waihao Riding of the same county within the harbour district Waimate Borough Council.
