the western boundary-line of that section to the Wanganui River; thence towards the south and south-east by the Wanganui River to the Borough of Wanganui; thence towards the south-west by the Borough of Wanganui to the north-eastern boundary-line of Original Section No. 18, Block V, Westmere Survey District; thence by that section to its north-eastern corner; and thence towards the north-west generally by Sections Nos. 42, 33, 228, 25A, and 248, Block III aforesaid, to the place of commencement: And also comprising all that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing on the left bank of the Wanganui River at the mouth of the Purna Stream; thence easterly along the right bank of that stream to the eastern boundary of Section No. 44, Block V, Ikitara Survey District; thence southerly along the eastern boundary of that section to No. 2 Line of road; thence across that road to the western side of a road opposite the south-eastern corner of the aforesaid Section No. 44; thence along the western and north-western side of that road to the eastern boundary of Te Iwi Roa Block; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of that block to Section No. 29, Block V aforesaid; thence westerly along the southern boundaries of the said Section No. 29 and Manawakowara No. 3 and Kaiate No. 2 Blocks, and the production of the southern boundary of the last-mentioned block, to the Wanganui River; and thence northerly along the left bank of the Wanganui River to the place of commencement.

And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of May and the 1st day of November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being for a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The above special order was passed at a special meeting of the Council held on the 17th day of January, 1911, and confirmed at an ordinary meeting of the Council held on the 14th day of February, 1911.

The common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Wanganui was hereto affixed to the above-written special order by order of the Council this 14th day of February, 1911, by and in the presence of—

Special Order made by the Council of the County of Kawhia.

THE following special order, made by the Kawhia County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

KAWHIA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Resolution making Special Rate.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, the Kawhia County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,000, authorized to be raised by the Kawhia County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of the improvement of the Kawhia Harbour, including the following works, viz.:—

Wharf and shed at Lemon Point … … … … £ 400
Landing and shed at Oparau (upper landing) … 180
Landing and shed at Kiwi Bay … … … … 100
Shed on Awaroa River (Limestone Landing) … 50
Shed at Waiharakeke … … … … … 50
Landing at Te Maika … … … … … 50

The balance available after providing for the above to be expended on such other improvements to the harbour, wharf, and plant as may be necessary:

the said Kawhia County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/16 of a penny in the pound upon the unimproved value of all rateable property in the County of Kawhia; and that such special rate shall be an annual-

recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off; the rate to be paid to cover both interest and redemption not to exceed 5 per centum per annum.

I hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed at a special meeting of the Kawhia County Council held on the 21st day of December, 1910.

THE following resolution, made by the Rangitikei County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments.

RANGITIKEI COUNTY COUNCIL.

Resolution making Special Rate.—Loan of £930, Marton Extension.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the Rangitikei County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £930, authorized to be raised by the Rangitikei County Council, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of metalling the several streets in the Marton Extension lying between Main Street and the Tutaenui Stream—viz., Waitere, Ngareta, Rira, Ahuru Streets, and portions of Marumaru and Potaka Streets—the said Rangitikei County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 13/16 of a penny in the pound sterling upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of the Marton Extension Special Rating District, comprising all sections contained in each of the blocks numbered 9, 10, 12, 13, 17, 18, and 26 on the plan of the Marton Extension No. 1 (deposited plan No. 2150), and part Section 13A of VII, Block III, Rangitoto Survey District (1 rood 11 perches, owned by Mrs. E. Parkinson), and bounded as follows—on the south by Station Street; on the east by Main Street, Marton Extension; on the north by part of Section VIII, Block III, Rangitoto Survey District (owned by the Misses Jean D. and Nancy Wilson); and on the west by the Tutaenui Stream: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of May in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off; the interest on such loan to be at the rate of £3 10s. per centum per annum, and the sinking fund at the rate of £1 7s. 6d. per centum per annum. Such loan to be obtained under the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909 (Part IV), repayable by seventy-three half-yearly payments of £2 8s. 9d. for each £100 of the loan; and that the cost of raising the loan be paid out of the loan, but not the interest and repayment for the first year.

It is hereby certified that the foregoing resolution was duly passed at a special meeting of the Rangitikei County Council held at Marton on the 28th day of January, 1911.
