No. 29022.—18th January, 1911.—CECIL GEORGE MCKELLAR, Assoc.Mech.Eng.C.E., of Christchurch, New Zealand, Consulting Engineer. Improvement in water-waste preventers.
Claims.—(1.) In a device of the class described, the combination with a dashpot placed within the cistern and adapted to control the closing of the flushing-valve, of a suitable water-vessel surrounding said dashpot so as to exclude air therefrom, substantially as and for the purpose set forth. (2.) In a device of the class described, the combination with a dashpot placed within the cistern and adapted to control the closing of the flushing-valve, of an adjustment for the escape-valve of said dashpot capable of being regulated by means of a screw accessible from without the cistern, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.

No. 29031.—20th January, 1911.—FRED BEDFORD, Ph.D., B.Sc., Lond., and CHARLES EDWARD WILLIAMS, Seed-crusher, both of Sleaford, in the County of Lincoln, England. Improvements in and connected with the catalytic reduction of organic substances.
Claims.—(1.) In a process for the catalytic reduction of organic substances and wherein a commercial gas or mixture of commercial gases is employed, purifying the latter by cooling to such a degree that the impurities separate out in the solid form possessing little or no vapour-tension before allowing the gas or mixture of gases containing hydrogen to pass into contact with the nickel or other catalyzer for the purpose set forth.

Claims.—(1.) A crate for the purpose indicated, constructed, arranged, and operating substantially as set forth. (2.) In a crate for the purpose indicated, the hinged double bars shaped to fit around the necks of the bottles, substantially as specified. (3.) In a crate for the purpose indicated, in combination, the hinged double bars shaped to fit round the necks of the bottles and the cross-bars, substantially as specified.

Claims.—(1.) In a swingletree, the employment of a triangular link having one short side for coupling together the ends of two bands, or the like, through which the draught is applied, substantially as and for the purpose specified and illustrated.
