the interest and other charges on a loan of £3,000, authorized to be raised by the East Tamaki Road Board, under the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1908, for the purpose of improving and metalling with blue broken metal the main roads in the East Tamaki District, including the Great South Road and the other principal roads in the district, and for paying the engineering charges and contingencies in connection therewith, the said East Tamaki Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ¼d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the East Tamaki Road District, comprising the whole of such district; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid; and it is the intention to pay out of the loan the cost of raising the same and the first year’s interest thereon.

THE following special order, made by the Hokianga County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

HOKIANGA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Special Order making Special Rate.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909, and section 48, subsection (e), of the Rating Act, 1908, the Hokianga County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £400, authorized to be raised by the Hokianga County Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for forming, metalling, and bridging within the special rating area of Rawene, the said Hokianga County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 2d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable properties within the Rawene Special District, comprising all those sections within an area bounded on the north by the Hokianga River; on the south by the northern boundary-line of Paraumu Estate, O.I.C. 63, Block XIV, Mangamuka; on the east by the Waima River; on the west by the Omanaia River; and more clearly defined as Township and Suburbs of Rawene: and such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each and every subsequent year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off, the interest and sinking fund of which is to be fixed at the rate of 4⅞ per cent. per annum.

The above resolution was duly passed as a special order at a special meeting of the Hokianga County Council held at Rawene on the 23rd day of November, 1910, and confirmed at a special meeting of the said Council held on the 12th day of January, 1911.

Resolution making Special Rate.

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the amendments of both these Acts respectively, the Petone Borough Council hereby resolves: That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £26,200, authorized to be raised by the Petone Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, on the 22nd day of December, 1910, for the purpose of paying off the principal moneys of the following special loans heretofore lawfully raised by the said Council:—

The Drainage and Street Improvement Debenture Loan, 1896 … … … £ 4,000
The Street Improvement Loan, 1901 … … … 7,000
The Gasworks Loan No. 2, 1891 … … … 2,000

the said Petone Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 4½d. in the pound sterling upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the Borough of Petone, comprising the whole of the said borough. Such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of February and 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being for a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above special rate was duly made and levied on the 24th day of January, 1911, under the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1908, and the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910.
