GISBORNE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

REGISTRATION OF MOTORS.

IN the matter of the Motor Regulation Act, 1908, and amendments thereto, notice is hereby given that the Gisborne Borough Council has decided by resolution that the Motor Regulation Act, 1908, shall be brought into operation in the Borough of Gisborne on and after the 9th day of January, 1912, and from that date the said Gisborne Borough Council intends to become a registering authority as prescribed by the Act.

IN THE SUPREME COURT OF NEW ZEALAND,
NORTHERN DISTRICT.

(In Divorce.)

Between CLARA ANN INGLIS, petitioner, and HUGH ROGER INGLIS, respondent.

To HUGH ROGER INGLIS, formerly of the City of Wellington, in the Dominion of New Zealand, Cycle Agent, but more recently of Vancouver, in the Dominion of Canada.

WHEREAS CLARA ANN INGLIS, of the City of Auckland, in New Zealand, claiming to have been lawfully married to you on the 16th day of September, 1896, at St. Patrick’s Cathedral Church, Huddersfield, Great Britain, has filed her petition against you claiming for dissolution of her said marriage, and for the custody of BENJAMIN INGLIS, issue of the said marriage, wherein she alleges that you, the said HUGH ROGER INGLIS, in or about the month of May, 1906, wilfully deserted her without just cause, and left her so deserted during five years and upwards; that you, the said HUGH ROGER INGLIS, during four years and upwards—namely, since the month of May, 1904, have been an habitual drunkard and have habitually left the petitioner without means of support; that you, in the year 1905, committed adultery with a woman whose name is unknown, but who is believed to be a nursemaid in the office of Messieurs Inglis Brothers, situate in Willis Street, Wellington, aforesaid; and that on divers occasions during the months of December, 1907, and January and February, 1908, you committed adultery on the “reclaimed land,” Wellington aforesaid, with divers women whose names are unknown: And whereas by order of this Court dated the 3rd day of November, 1911, it was ordered that this abstract should be advertised once in the New Zealand Government Gazette, and twice in some newspaper published and circulated in Vancouver: Now take notice that, unless within forty-two days after publication of the last advertisement in the said newspaper published at Vancouver hereof you do file in this Honourable Court at Auckland an answer to the said petition, this Court will proceed to hear the said charges proved and to pronounce sentence therein, your absence notwithstanding. And further take notice that before filing the said answer you must enter an appearance in person, or by your solicitor, in the Registry of the said Court at Auckland aforesaid, and that if you do not enter such an appearance you will not be allowed to address the Court either in person or by counsel at any stage of the proceedings.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between HENRY ORAMS and HERBERT DANIEL INGLIS, carrying on business at Rutland Street, Auckland, as Plumbers, under the style or firm of “Inglis and Orams,” has been dissolved as from the 15th day of December, 1911. Accounts due to the late firm may be paid to either of the parties.

THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

SUBSCRIPTIONS.—The subscription is at the rate of 33s. per annum, including postage, PAYABLE IN ADVANCE. A less period than three months cannot be subscribed for.

Single copies of the Gazette, 6d. each.

Advertisements are charged at the rate of 6d. per line for the first insertion, and 3d. per line for the second and any subsequent insertion.

Statements under the Mining Act are uniformly charged 23s.

All advertisements should be written on one side of the paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible hand.

The number of insertions required must be written across the face of the advertisement.

The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening in each week, and notices for insertion must be received by the Government Printer before 3 o’clock of the day preceding publication.

Communications should be addressed to the Government Printer, Wellington, to whom post-office money-orders should be made payable. Cheques should be crossed “Public a/c,” and exchange added.

Postage or duty stamps cannot be received in payment from any place at which postal notes or post-office orders are issued.

Prepayment may be demanded in any case. In order to prevent delay in publication, a sufficient remittance should accompany every advertisement. Any surplus will be returned with receipted account.
