of the Westland Land District, and thence following the said land district boundary a distance of about 200 chains to Campbell Saddle; thence in a direction about west and north-west dropping down into Tumbledown Creek for a distance of about a mile to the upper edge of the bush-line to a point on Run No. 105, and thence following the eastern boundaries of Runs 105 and 7 to the eastern corner of Section 2395; thence by the eastern boundary of that section and along its north-west boundary for about 30 chains to the boundary of Run 7; thence along the boundary of that run to Section 1591, and round the south side of Section 1591 to its eastern corner; thence in a direction about north-east along the boundary of Scenic Reserve No. 1000 for about 150 chains; thence bounded by the said scenic reserve a distance of about 570 chains to the starting-point: exclusive of all existing rights.
CLASS B.
Pastoral Agricultural Lands.
Being Lands adapted in part for Pasturage and in part for Agricultural Purposes, but suitable for Subdivision in Areas not exceeding 5,000 Acres.
Run No. 23: Area, 27,000 acres.—Starting at the north-east corner of Run 447 at a point about 10 chains east of Larsen’s Creek, and following the northern boundary of that run to the Clarke River, continuing directly across the Clarke River and proceeding down the right bank of that river to the eastern boundary of Run 72, following along the eastern boundary of that run to its north-east point, situated about 20 chains below the bush-line; thence in a general northerly, north-easterly, and easterly direction by lines sweeping round 20 chains below the bush-line across the creeks on the right bank of the Clarke River up to Bifurcate Creek; thence turning about south down said creek to its confluence with the Clarke River; thence crossing the Clarke River directly and proceeding by the spurs generally direct across the Landsborough River, and crossing that river directly at Wills Creek, and thence proceeding up Wills Creek to a point about 20 chains below the bush-line; thence turning generally south-west keeping about 20 chains below the bush-line, and proceeding about 140 chains to the starting-point: exclusive of all existing rights, and more expressly exclusive of Section 1993, together with other Crown land thereto adjoining, reserved for further disposal, and containing altogether about 1,100 acres.
Run No. 46: Area, 54,900 acres.—Starting at the east corner of Section 490, and proceeding generally eastward about 40 chains by the main spur to a point about 20 chains below the bush-line and about 40 chains below trig. P.S. on the Turnbull Range, and proceeding thence, keeping about 20 chains below the bush-line and in a general easterly direction to the western side of Run 47; thence by sinuous lines following the western boundary of Run 47 up to the Actor River; thence striking due south a distance of about 50 chains to the main range, the boundary of the Westland Land District; thence following that boundary to the head of the Axius River, there leaving the main range and striking down the eastern branch of the Axius River to the eastern boundary of Run 95; thence following the eastern boundaries of Run 95, Run 24, and Run 96, to the Turnbull River; thence crossing the Turnbull River directly to its right bank, up said right bank to east side of Section 490; thence across road reserve to south-east corner of said section; thence by east side thereof to the starting-point: exclusive of all existing rights.
Run 66: Area, 32,200 acres.—Starting at a point on the left bank of the Arawata River, being upon the boundary of Runs 25 and 48 combined, as described in Gazette No. 104, published 9th December, 1909, and proceeding thence in a direction generally north-west and north along the southern and western boundaries of the said runs up to and crossing the Jackson River to its left bank, and thereupon departing from the said boundary and proceeding up the left bank of the Jackson River in a direction generally south-west for a distance of about 125 chains, and bounded by a proposed scenic reserve adjoining Lake Ellery, and thence proceeding by a right line in a direction north-west a distance of about 180 chains, bounded by the said proposed scenic reserve to a point about 35 chains in a south-west direction from the southern shore of Lake Ellery, and proceeding from the said point in a south-west direction a distance of about 100 chains to the north-east corner of Run 68; thence by Stafford Range along the eastern side of said run a distance of about 60 chains to the north-east corner of Run No. 77; thence generally in a south-west direction along the eastern boundary of that run passing over the summit
of Mount Beta to the right bank of Martyr River at Monkey Puzzle Gorge, a distance of about 330 chains; thence ascending by the right bank of the Martyr River up to the confluence of the main branch, coming in from the north-east a distance of about 400 chains in a direction generally south-east, and continuing generally in the same direction up the leading spur and over the watershed, and down the leading spur a distance of about 200 chains to the main forks of McIntosh Creek; and thence descending that stream by its left bank still generally in the same direction a distance of about 250 chains to strike the left bank of Arawata River at its confluence with the last-named creek; and thence descending the Arawata River by its left bank a distance of about 180 chains to the starting-point: exclusive of all existing rights.
Run 71: Area, 38,300 acres, whereof 18,300 acres is national endowment and 20,000 acres Crown lands.—Starting at a point on the old provincial boundary between Nelson and Westland, distant and common to the boundaries of Runs 630 and 5, and proceeding thence along the northern boundary of Run 5 in a direction generally west for about twelve miles to a point due south of Trig. Station XC (Mount Howe), being the south-eastern corner of Wood Pulp Reserve—viz., Reserve No. 1094; and thence proceeding along the eastern and south-eastern boundaries of that reserve as described in Gazette No. 11, published 13th February, 1908—namely, firstly by a right line running due north through Mount Howe Trig. XC a distance over all of about three miles to a point 20 chains below the bush-line; and thence for a distance of about nine miles by lines sweeping round about 20 chains below the upper edge of the bush up to the old provincial boundary at the easternmost corner of the said reserve; and thence proceeding in a direction generally north-west along the said provincial boundary, being the boundary of Reserve No. 1094, a distance of about one mile and three-quarters, to a point on the actual bush-line upon the western flank of the ridge; and thence by lines following the actual bush-line along the western flank of the ridge, a distance of about four miles, to a point at which a straight line drawn from Trig. X, Brian O’Lynn, to the southernmost corner of Section 1 of Block XI, Kopara Survey District, would intersect the bush-line, and proceeding from such intersection in a direction about north by west a distance of about 60 chains to the said section corner; and thence by the southern boundaries of Section 1 of Block XI, Kopara Survey District, and Section 2582, and by the eastern boundary of Section 2582, Section 1 of Block VIII, and Sections 1, 2, and 3 of Block VII, of Kopara Survey District, and by the boundaries of road reserves intersecting said sections, to the eastern corner of Section 4, Block VII, Kopara Survey District; thence by the south and east boundary of Miscellaneous License No. 125 to the south-west corner of Section 5, Block VIII, Kopara Survey District, and by the southern boundaries of Sections 5 and 4 of said block, and by the main road from Hatters Terrace to Haupiri to the north-west corner of Run No. 630, and by the western and southern boundaries of that run to the starting-point: exclusive of Section 2584.
Run 91: Area, 12,900 acres, whereof 8,400 acres is national endowment and 4,500 acres Crown lands.—Starting at the south-west corner of Section 2376, situated in Block V, Toaroha Survey District, and proceeding in a south-west direction a distance of about 90 chains to Mount Misery, and thence continuing along the western border of Runs 11 and 62 combined, to the south-west corner of these runs; thence in a direction about south-west a distance of 60 chains across Doctor’s Creek; thence westerly about 50 chains to the north-east corner of Run No. 195; thence continuing generally for about 140 chains along the north boundary of said run; thence turning generally north and passing by irregular lines about 20 chains east of Trig. H.A., Fraser’s Peak, across Bald Hill Range, and along the eastern flanks of Ford Range generally direct to the head of Falls Creek about 400 chains; thence down the right bank of Falls Creek about 300 chains to Section 2329; and thence by the southern and south-western boundaries of Sections 2329, 2330, 2331, 2332, 2333, across a public road, across Section 2336, across a road reserve, across Doctor’s Creek, across a road reserve, by the southern and eastern boundaries of Section 2338, and by the southern boundary of Section 2339, to the south-west corner of Section 2376, the starting-point: exclusive of all existing rights.
