Date of Election to fill Extraordinary Vacancy in Auckland Fire Board.

PURSUANT to the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, and the
rules made thereunder, I, David Buddo, Minister of
Internal Affairs, charged with the administration of the
said Act, do hereby appoint Monday, the 16th day of
January, 1911, to be the day for holding an election of one
member of the Auckland Fire Board by the insurance
companies concerned, such election being held to fill the
extraordinary vacancy caused by the resignation of Alex-
ander Stuart Russell as a member of the said Fire Board.

Special Order made by the Waipipi Road Board, County of Manukau.

THE following special order, made by the Waipipi
Road Board, is published in accordance with the
provisions of the Road Boards Act, 1908.

WAIPipi ROAD DISTRICT.

THE following special order was made at a special meeting
of the Waipipi Road Board held on Saturday, 19th Novem-
ber, 1910, and was confirmed at a special meeting held on
Saturday, 17th December, 1910 :—

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it
in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the
Waipipi Road Board hereby resolves as follows : That,
for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges
on a loan of £1,850, authorized to be raised by the Waipipi
Road Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for the fol-
lowing purposes—i.e., £766 for forming and metalling the
Lamb Hill—Waiuku Road ; £200 for forming and metal-
ling the Lamb Hill—Karioitahi Road ; £200 for metalling
the unmetalled portion of the Waipipi Main Road ; £350
to pay off existing liability (overdraft) incurred in build-
ing concrete culverts on Waipipi Main Road (flood
damage) ; £200 for forming Herrolds Road between
Lot 361, Waipipi Parish, and the main road ; £134 for
taking and making a new road through Lot 361, Waipipi
Parish—the said Waipipi Road Board hereby makes and
levies a special rate of 7/16 of a penny in the pound upon
the rateable value of the rateable property of the Taura-
garuru Special Rating Area, comprising the whole of No. 3
Subdivision and that portion of No. 2 Subdivision con-
taining Allotments Nos. 54 to 58, inclusive, of Section 2,
Taurangaruru ; Lots 118 to 121, Lots 102, 125, 125A, 126,
127, 128, 55, 316, 96, 98, 100, part 25, 121A, and 407, all of
Waipipi Parish ; and Lots 35, 36, 39, 40 to 46, 55 to 57,
of Section 1, Karioitahi ; and Crown land adjoining
Lake Puketi of Blocks I and II, Maioro, the boundaries
of such special rating area being—commencing at a point
on the beach at the termination of a road through Lot 314,
Waipipi Parish, and by that road westwards through
Lot 314, and then by the northern boundaries of Allot-
ments 47, 49, 50, 51 ; then southwards along the eastern
boundaries of Lots 54, 55, 56, 57, 58 ; thence by a straight
line westwards passing Allotments 58, 118, 119, 120,
through 25 and 121A ; then on the southern boundary of
Lot 125A, the eastern boundary of Lots 102, 35, 36, 37 ;
thence generally westwards on the southern boundaries of
Lots 37, 38, and Lake Puketi ; and by a straight line to
the ocean beach by Ruakuwai Stream ; thence northwards
by the ocean beach to the termination of a road intersect-
ing Lot 406, and by that road in an easterly direction
generally to the Mokorau Inlet on the Waiuku River ;
thence southward by high-water mark to the point of com-
mencement : and that such special rate shall be an annual-
recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be
payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every
year during the currency of such loan, being a period of
thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid
off.

I hereby certify that the above special order was made
in accordance with the provisions of the Road Boards Act,
1908.

Special Order made by the Moa Road Board, County of Taranaki.

THE following special order, made by the Moa Road
Board, is published in accordance with the pro-
visions of the Road Boards Act, 1908.

MOA ROAD BOARD.

Special Order levying a Special Rate for One Year for
the Purpose of maintaining the Norfolk Road West.

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in
it in that behalf by the Road Boards Act, 1908, the Moa
Road Board hereby resolves as follows : That the prayer
of the petition of the ratepayers of the Norfolk Road
West be granted ; and the Moa Road Board, under the
above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of maintaining the
Norfolk Road West, hereby makes and levies a special rate
of ½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rate-
able property of the Norfolk Road West Special Rating
District, comprising Sections 160, 171, 172, 190, 191, 192,
193, 194, 195, 196, 197, 198, 199, 200, 201, 202, 203, 205,
3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, Block XII, Egmont Survey District ; Sec-
tions 161, 162, 163, 164, 165, 166, 167, 168, 170, 173, 174,
175, 176 (in two subdivisions), 177, Block VIII, Egmont
Survey District : and that such special rate shall be for
one year, for the period commencing on the 1st day of
January, 1911, and ending on the 31st day of December,
1911, and be payable in one instalment on the 1st day of
February, 1911.

I hereby certify that the above special order was duly
passed in accordance with the Road Boards Act, 1908, at a
special meeting of the Moa Road Board held on the 21st
day of November, 1910, and confirmed at a subsequent
special meeting held on the 21st day of December, 1910.
