SPECIAL ORDER.
BY-LAWS OF THE COUNCIL OF THE WHANGAREI COUNTY.
BY-LAWS of the Council of the Whangarei County, made by special order of the said Council on the 10th day of August, 1910, confirmed on the 28th day of September, 1910, and sealed with the common seal of the body corporate called the “Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the Whangarei County” the 28th day of September, 1910.
In pursuance of the powers vested in them under the Counties Act, 1908, the Public Works Act, 1908, and in pursuance of any other powers enabling the Council to make the same, the Council of the Whangarei County ordain as follows, that is to say:—
BY-LAW No. 1.
PRELIMINARY.

This by-law shall be called and may for all purposes be cited as By-law No. 1 of the Whangarei County, and shall apply to the whole county, and shall come into force within and throughout the whole county on the 1st day of December, 1910.

All by-laws at any time heretofore existing in relation to the Whangarei County or in relation to the well-being or conduct of the said county are, from and immediately after the date on which these by-laws shall come into operation, repealed.

In these by-laws, if not inconsistent with the context,—
“Chairman” means the Chairman of the Whangarei County Council :
“Clerk” shall mean and include every person acting as the Clerk for the time being of the Whangarei County Council :
“County” shall mean the Whangarei County :
“Council” shall mean the Whangarei County Council :
“Inspector” shall mean and include any and every person whom the Council may from time to time appoint to be Inspector of Vehicles for the county, and the production of a warrant under the hand of the Chairman of the Council evidencing the appointment of such person as such Inspector shall be sufficient authority to prove his appointment :
“Person” includes firms, partnerships, and corporations :
