Warrant under Section 298 of the Native Land Act, 1909.
IN pursuance of the power conferred upon the Native Minister by subsection (b) of section 298 of the Native Land Act, 1909, I, James Carroll, Native Minister, acting on the recommendation of the Tairawhiti District Maori Land Board, do hereby consent to a lease of part of Mangaheia No. 2k Block, containing 92 acres, to Ellen Therese Gear, subject to the same restrictions and to the same requirements as to confirmation and otherwise as if the land was not subject to Part XVI of the Native Land Act, 1909.

Notice to Mariners No. 109 of 1910.
SHOAL BAY, AUCKLAND HARBOUR.—DREDGING CHANNEL.

Wellington, N.Z., 10th October, 1910.
THE Auckland Harbour Board have notified that a channel is being dredged through the mud-flats at Shoal Bay to afford access to Neill’s Point Wharf and reclamation. The channel will be marked by five single-pile black beacons with triangular heads. The bearings of the outermost beacon will be: Ponsonby Point extreme S. 50° W., Tower of Queen Street Wharf S. 26° E.
The dredger “Hapai” is working in the channel, moored with six anchors and long scopes of chain upon each.
Shipmasters, boatmen, and others are warned to give the dredger a wide berth and navigate with great caution when in Shoal Bay.

Notice to Mariners No. 110 of 1910.
GODLEY HEAD LIGHT.—ARC OF VISIBILITY.

NOTICE is hereby given that the arc of visibility of Godley Head Light having been lately determined by Mr. H. D. M. Haszard, a surveyor in the Lands Department, was found to cover a greater arc than that previously notified, and now published on the Admiralty charts and “New Zealand Pilot.” The light is visible, except where obscured by the land, from the bearing of N. 64° W. through west, and south to S. 64° E. (magnetic).

KAIPARA HARBOUR, WEST COAST OF NORTH ISLAND.—ALTERATION OF BUOYS IN WAIROA RIVER.

REFERRING to Notice to Mariners No. 68 of 1910 further notice is hereby given that all buoys have been removed from the old five-fathom channel in Wairoa River, and the inside channel is now buoyed with red buoys on starboard side, and the land marks the port side. Deep-draught vessels should keep near the middle of the channel, where it can be safely navigated.

Bonus on Mineral Oil produced in New Zealand.

NOTICE is hereby given that a bonus will be paid for the production of mineral oil under the following conditions:—

A bonus of 3d. per gallon (£6,250) will be paid on the first 500,000 gallons of mineral oil produced in the Dominion of New Zealand. The mineral oil in the refined state to have a specific gravity of 0·814 to 0·830, and a flash point of not less than 83° Fahr. by the Abel closed test.

Notice of intention to claim the aforesaid bonus must be given in writing to the Minister of Mines not later than 31st March, 1912.

The claim must be made before 31st March, 1913.
-
The first claimant who proves to the satisfaction of the Government that he has fulfilled all the conditions to be the recipient of the bonus.
-
All conditions as to quantity, quality, priority, and value to be fulfilled to the satisfaction of an officer appointed for the purpose by the Government.
