Land taken for the Tokanui Mental Hospital in Puniu Survey District

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under the Public Works Act, 1908, for a certain public work, to wit, the construction of a mental hospital at Tokanui, in the Puniu Survey District, and for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of such hospital:

And whereas all the conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land for the purposes hereinbefore specified have been observed and performed:

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers and authorities in me vested by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the Tokanui Mental Hospital, and for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of such hospital, and shall vest in His Majesty the King; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the twenty-first day of November, one thousand nine hundred and ten.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twelfth day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and ten.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this eleventh day of October, 1910.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, K.C.M.G., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section seven of the Land Settlement Finance Act, 1909 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), it is provided that, as soon as practicable after the complete execution of any agreement under the said Act, application in the prescribed form shall be made to the Governor, by or on behalf of the purchasers, for an Order in Council confirming the agreement in pursuance of the said Act: And whereas by sections eight and nine of the said Act it is further provided that upon receipt of such application the Minister of Finance shall refer the same, together with the agreement, to the Board of Land Purchase Commissioners for its report thereon; and, if the Board reports that the agreement is fit and proper to be so confirmed, the Governor may, if he thinks fit, by Order in Council confirm the agreement accordingly: And whereas under the provisions of the said Act an agreement bearing date the twenty-sixth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and ten, has been entered into between Ernest Hugh Crabb, as vendor of the one part, and Arthur Reeve, Frederick Apes, Frank Frederick Lowe, Gerald Irwin Lowe, and Percival Oswald Reeve and Stanislaus Arthur Reeve, as tenants in common in equal shares, as purchasers of the other part, for the purchase of the land therein described, and the said purchasers therein agreed to become incorporated as the Moorfield Land Settlement Association: And whereas application has been made in the prescribed form for the issue of an Order in Council confirming the said agreement: And whereas the said application, together with the said agreement, was referred to the Board of Land Purchase Commissioners for its report, and the Board has reported that no roading is required in respect of the said land, and that the said agreement is fit and proper to be so confirmed:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the said Act, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby confirm the said agreement dated the twenty-sixth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and ten.

Sea-gulls may be killed in the Southland Acclimatization District.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that from and after the date hereof sea-gulls shall cease to be within the operation of the said Act, within the Southland Acclimatization District, comprising so much of the County of Southland as lies to the westward of the Mataura River, together with the Counties of Fiord, Wallace, and Stewart Island; excepting therefrom the Bluff Harbour District, the New River Harbour District, and the Riverton Harbour District.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fourteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and ten.

Commissioners to classify and report to me upon Pastoral Runs Nos. 17A and Section 1, Block VIII, Domet Survey District; 24A and Sections 10, 11, and 13, Block IV, Kuriwao Survey District; Sections 1 and 18 to 20, Block IV, Crookston Survey District; Sections 35 to 38, Block IV, and 12 and 17, Block XVII, Crookston Survey District; and 18 and 19, Block XVII, Crookston Survey District, Otago Land District, as provided by section two hundred and twenty-five of the Land Act, 1908.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fourteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and ten.
