County Council, is published in accordance with the
provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908.

WAIMAIRI COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order making Special Rate.
Notice is hereby given that a special meeting of the Wai-
mairi County Council will be held at the Council Chambers,
160 Hereford Street, Christchurch, on Thursday, the 22nd
day of September, 1910, at the hour of 7 p.m., for the pur-
pose of confirming as a special order the undermentioned
resolution passed at a special meeting of the Council held
on the 23rd day of August, 1910 :-
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908, and
amendments thereto, the Waimairi County Council hereby
resolves (by way of a special order) as follows : That, for
the purpose of providing the interest at the rate of 312 per
centum per annum, sinking fund, and other charges on a
loan of £4,800, authorized to be raised by the Waimairi
County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the
following purposes--namely, channelling, regrading, and
asphalting the footpaths in a special area of the said
Council's district hereinafter described -- the said Wai-
mairi County Council hereby makes and levies a special
rate of &d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all
rateable property in that part of the Waimairi County
District comprising Rural Sections 7, 80, 102, 697, 12161,
12162, and part of 143. Bounded towards the south by the
River Avon and Waimairi Stream, from Boundary Road
to Straven Road; thence towards the west by Straven Road
and Idris Road to Wairarapa Stream; thence towards the
north-west and east by the Wairarapa Stream to the road
forming the north-west boundary of Rural Section 7; thence
towards the north-west and north-east by the last-men-
tioned road and the boundary road to the River Avon, the
place of commencement : and that such special rate shall
be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such
loan, and be payable half-yearly on the lst day of Novem-
ber and the 1st day of May in each and every year during
the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six
years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Special Order made by the Council of the County of
Taranaki.

THE following special order; made by the Taranaki
County Council, is published in accordance with the
provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908, the Tara-
naki County Council hereby resolves as follows : That, for
the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on
a loan of £100, being 10 per cent. on the original loan of
£1,000, authorized to be raised by the Elliot Road Board
(the road district now being merged into the Taranaki
County), under the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908, for the
purpose of completing the forming, kerbing, and metalling
of the footpath on the northern side of Elliot Road to the
western boundary of Soleville, and completing the grading,
formation, and metalling of the Elliot Road through to its
junction with the Frankley Road at the Frankley Road
School, the said Taranaki County hereby makes and levies
a special rate of 1/40d. in the pound upon the rateable
value of all the rateable property of the Elliot Road Dis-
trict, comprising the whole of the area of the late Elliot
Road District; and that such special rate shall be an
annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and
be payable on the 15th day of May in each and every year
during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-
six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and
Inhabitants of the County of Taranaki was affixed hereto
by the Chairman, duly authorized by resolution of the
said Council passed on the 3rd day of October, 1910.
