Change of Name of “Kaikora North” to “Otane.”

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the Board of the Town District of Kaikora North, in the County of Patangata, has, by resolution adopted at an ordinary meeting thereof, requested that the name of that town district be altered from “Kaikora North” to “Otane” :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Designation of Districts Act, 1908, and the Designation of Districts Amendment Act, 1909, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the name of the town district now known as “Kaikora North” shall be and the same is hereby altered to “Otane,” and do assign the last-mentioned name to such town district accordingly; and also do hereby proclaim and declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and ten, not being earlier than six months after the first publication thereof in the Gazette.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twelfth day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and ten.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-second day of August, 1910.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, K.C.M.G., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of the third section of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, a majority of the ratepayers in the area of land described in the Schedule hereto, situated in the Counties of Piako and Waikato, have presented a petition to His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, praying that the said area be constituted a drainage district under the provisions of the said Act :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority contained in the third section of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby constitute and declare the area of land described in the Schedule hereto to be a district for the purposes of Part I of the said Act, and to be called by the name of the “Tauhei Drainage District”; and also, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority contained in the fourth section of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the Board of Trustees for the said district shall consist of five persons, to be elected as members of the said Board, under and in accordance with the said Act.

In New Zealand Gazette No. 50, of the 26th May, 1910, page 1591, appointment of Graham Ray Bennett as Lieutenant, Canterbury College Officers’ Training Corps, for “Bennett” read “Barnett.”
