loan, and which loan was theretofore lawfully
authorized to be raised by a poll of the rate-
payers of the borough on the 3rd day of Feb-
ruary, 1904, for placing drains in certain por-
tions of Collie's Hollow and Lock-up Creek,
filling in the same, and doing all the acts neces-
sary thereto :
(2.) The sum of £11,850, representing a special loan
of £14,000 after deducting the sum of £2,150
sinking fund and moneys in hand for paying the
same, which said loan of £14,000 was authorized
to be raised on the 7th day of April, 1905, for
the purpose of paying off a loan of £14,000
theretofore lawfully raised, and which said sum
of £14,000 is the same sum as was authorized
to be borrowed by a poll of the ratepayers of the
borough on the 18th day of September, 1886, for
the purpose of buying the gasworks or erecting
new ones :
(3.) The loan of £5,500, representing the whole of a
special loan of £5,500 heretofore lawfully raised
as follows : £2,500 thereof for the gasworks
for the purpose of increasing the supply of gas-
works plants and laying mains, and £3,000 for
general work--viz., building and repairing
bridges, street-formation, and asphaltimg; which
said sum of £5,500 is the same sum as was
authorized to be borrowed by a poll of the rate-
payers of the borough on the 5th day of May,
1908, for the purposes aforesaid :
(4.) And for paying £100 for the cost of raising the
loan,--
the said Blenheim Borough Council hereby makes and
levies a special rate of ld. in the pound upon the rateable
value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable
property of the whole of the Borough of Blenheim ; and
that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate dur-
ing the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly
on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each
and every year during the currency of such loan, being a
period of twenty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid
off.
Passed at a special meeting of the Blenheim Borough
Council held on the 19th day of August, 1910, and duly
confirmed at a meeting of the said Blenheim Borough
Council held on the 19th day of September, 1910.
The common seal of the Blenheim Borough Council was

In the matter of the Motueka Harbour Act, 1905, the Local
Bodies' Loans Act, 1908, and the Harbours Act, 1908.
I, THOMAS PATTIE, Chairman of the Motueka Harbour
Board, hereby give notice that on the 12th day of Sep-
tember instant a poll of the ratepayers in the Motueka
Harbour District was held and taken upon the proposal
of the Motueka Harbour Board to borrow £20,000 for the
purpose of forming a harbour at or near the entrance to
the Moutere Lagoon, in accordance with the provisions of
the above-mentioned Acts; and that at such poll the
number of valid votes recorded was as follows :-

Total ... ... ... ... 654
Now, therefore, inasmuch as the number of valid votes
so recorded in favour of the said proposal was more than
three-fifths of the total number of valid votes recorded at

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.
Pursuant to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act,
1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of
the Borough of Akaroa was taken on the 3rd day of
September, 1910, on the proposal to raise a special loan
of £5,000 for the purpose of installing electric light in the
said borough, and for making and constructing a reservoir
for the storage of water to supply the necessary power, and
for other necessary works in connection therewith.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 91.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 13.
The number of informal votes was 2.
I therefore declare the proposal carried.
