Waihopai Riding is bounded by a line commencing at the junction of Awarua Riding with the Mataura River, west and south-west along the boundary of Awarua Riding to opposite the boundary of Invercargill Borough opposite the south-west corner of Section 3, Block I, Invercargill Hundred; thence along the middle of the main Woodlands-Invercargill Road north of Section 8, Block I, Invercargill Hundred, to opposite the east boundary of Invercargill Borough; thence south along the east boundary of Invercargill Borough to its junction with South Invercargill Borough; thence along the north, east, and south boundaries of South Invercargill Borough to the east side of the New River Estuary; thence along the estuary to Stanley Township; thence along the coast to the junction of the middle of the Mataura River (excluding the land comprised in the Borough of Campbelltown); thence north along the middle of the Mataura River to the commencing-point.

Toetoes Riding is bounded by a line commencing at the junction of the middle of the Mataura River with the ocean; thence north along the east boundary of Waihopai Riding to its north-east corner (excluding the portion under the control of the Wyndham Town Board); thence along the middle of the Mataura River to its junction with the middle of the Mimihaau Stream; thence easterly along the Mimihaau Stream to the branching-off of the boundary of Run 251 near the north-west corner of Block VI, Slopedown Survey District; thence south-east along the boundaries of Runs 251 and 258 to the junction of the Wyndham River; thence east to the north-west corner of Block XII, Kuriwao Survey District; thence east along the north boundary of said Block XII to the boundary of Clutha County in the Waipahi River; thence south along the Southland County boundary to the coast; thence west to the commencing-point.

Mataura Riding is bounded by a line commencing at the boundary of Toetoes Riding at the junction of the Mimihaau Stream and Mataura River, north along the middle of the Mataura River to opposite the north boundary of Block III, Otama Survey District (excluding the portions contained in the Boroughs of Gore and Mataura); thence east along this boundary and the north boundary of Blocks VII and IV, Chatton Survey District, to opposite the middle of road on north-east boundary of Section 20, Block IV, Chatton; thence along the middle of this road through Section 19, Block IV, and south of Sections 1, 2, 3, 14, Block XIV, to the west boundary of Section 17; thence north along the west boundary of Section 17 to the north-west corner of Section 17; thence east along the north boundary of Section 17 and of Section 44, Block XIV, Chatton Survey District, to the Waikaka Stream; thence north along the Waikaka Stream to the north boundary of Block XIV; thence east along the boundary of Block IX to the Clutha County boundary; thence south and east along the Clutha County boundary to the Toetoes Riding boundary; thence westerly along the Toetoes Riding boundary to the commencing-point.
