Act, 1903, for a certain public work, to wit, for the purposes of a road in Blocks X and XIV, Christchurch Survey District:
And whereas the Waimairi County Council has laid before the Governor a memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the said road; and I do also hereby declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the thirtieth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and ten.

In the Canterbury Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked and coloured as above mentioned, and deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-second day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and ten.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a borough under the said Act on and from the first day of September, one thousand nine hundred and ten; that the name of such borough shall be the Borough of Taumarunui; that the said borough shall be an undivided borough; and that the number of Councillors to be elected thereto shall be nine, exclusive of the Mayor.
And I do further proclaim and declare that John Edward Slattery, of Taumarunui, shall be the Returning Officer to conduct the first election of Mayor and Councillors of the said borough; and that the said John Edward Slattery shall be the Town Clerk and the person to prepare the district electors roll for the purposes of the said first election.
And, lastly, I do proclaim and declare that the first election of Mayor and Councillors of the said borough shall be held on Wednesday, the fifth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and ten; and that the first meeting of the Council of the said borough shall be held on Thursday, the sixth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and ten, at eight o’clock in the evening, at the Native Township Council Chambers, Hakiaha Street, Taumarunui.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the left bank of the Ongarue River where the Rangaroa Stream joins that river; thence generally easterly along the southern side of the said Rangaroa Stream to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 1, Block I, Village of Rangaroa; thence along the north-eastern boundary of that section, the north-eastern and northern boundaries of Section No. 2, and the northern boundaries of Sections Nos. 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, Block I aforesaid, to the Rangaroa Stream at the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence again along the southern side of the Rangaroa Stream, and along the northern, north-western, and north-eastern boundaries of Ohura South G No. 4 Block to the Wanganui River; thence westerly along the right bank of the Wanganui River to its confluence with the Ongarue River; and thence northerly along the left bank of the said Ongarue River to the place of commencement.

PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, and all other powers and authorities enabling me on that behalf, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do by this notification revoke the charges contained in the Second Schedule of By-laws for Whakarewarewa Thermal Springs Reserve, and also clauses three and four of the said by-laws, made on the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and ten, and published in the Gazette of the fourteenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and ten.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portion of the road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a county road.
