Special Order made by the Council of the County of Horowhenua.

THE following special order, made by the Horowhenua County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

HOROWHENUA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order making Special Rate.

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the Horowhenua County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £850, authorised to be raised by the Horowhenua County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of constructing the Tararua Road in the Tararua Special-rating District, acquiring the necessary land for such road and fencing same, the said Horowhenua County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1¾d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable properties in the Tararua Special-rating District, comprising Sections A, B, and part C of Horowhenua 3D No. 2; 1, 1A, 2, 3, and 4 of Horowhenua 3E No. 2; and Sections 1/21 of Horowhenua 3D No. 1, Block I, Waiopehu Survey District, as the same is shown on the plan and coloured red: and that such rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a special order adopted at a special meeting of the Horowhenua County Council held on the 14th May, 1910, and confirmed at a meeting on the 11th June, 1910.

Special Order made by the Havelock Harbour Board.

THE following special order, made by the Havelock Harbour Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

HAVELOCK HARBOUR BOARD.
Special Order making Special Rate.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Havelock Harbour Board Act, 1905, and the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the Havelock Harbour Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £750, authorised to be raised by the Havelock Harbour Board, under the above-mentioned Acts, for dredging and improving a channel from Culien’s Point to Havelock Wharf (including portion of expenditure incurred on dredging plant in use and works in hand), the said Havelock Harbour Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ¾d. in the pound upon the capital rateable value of all rateable property of the Havelock Harbour District, as defined in the Havelock Harbour Board Act, 1905; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a special order adopted at a special meeting of the Havelock Harbour Board held on the 28th day of May, 1910, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting held on the 6th day of July, 1910.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the County of Featherston, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL OR PROPOSAL TO RAISE A LOAN.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of ratepayers of the Moroa Water-race Extension District of the Featherston County was taken on the 15th day of July, 1910, on the proposal of the Featherston County Council to borrow the sum of £4,000 for the construction of water-races within the Moroa Water-race District as extended by a special order of the said Council dated the 17th day of December, 1909. The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 19; the number of votes against the proposal was 2.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

NOTICE is hereby given that upon the above Board’s proposal to borrow £6,000, votes were recorded as under:—

And as the total number of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal is not at least three-fifths of the total number of the valid votes recorded, the proposal is hereby declared to be rejected.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 15 of the Land Act, 1908, I, Joseph George Ward, Minister of Lands, do hereby authorise the laying-off of Moana Street and Marama Street, in the Town of Part of Frankton Extension No. 10, Auckland Land District, of a width of not less than 66 ft. instead of 99 ft.
