Notice of Acceptance of Complete Specifications.

Wellington, 29th June, 1910.

COMPLETE specifications relating to the undermentioned applications for Letters Patent have been accepted, and are open to public inspection at this office. Any person may, at any time within two months from the date of this Gazette, give me notice in writing of opposition to the grant of any such patent. Such notice must set forth the particular grounds of objection, and be in duplicate. A fee of 10s. is payable thereon.

The copies of claims and extracts from the specifications and drawings are merely intended to give some further indication of the invention than is disclosed in the title, and the complete specifications and drawings should be referred to for a description of the invention.


No. 25766.—3rd April, 1908.—JOHN TAYLOR, of Lang Road, Ivanhoe, near Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, Chemist and Manufacturer. An improved mechanical device for displaying advertisements and the like.

[NOTE.—This is an application under section 98 of the Act, the date given being the official date of the application in Australia.]

Claims.—(1.) In apparatus for displaying automatically altered advertisements, a cabinet having windows behind which the advertisements are displayed, and means for changing said advertisements at intervals, in combination with a windmill or other source of power, substantially as and for the purposes specified, and as illustrated in the drawings. (2.) In apparatus for displaying automatically altered advertisements, sheets or leaves carrying said advertisements, attached each to one of a series of rods extending between, and connected to, a pair of driving-chains, substantially as and for the purposes specified, and as illustrated in the drawings.

No. 26081.—16th June, 1909.—SCOTT SYMINGTON, Engineer, and FRANK THOMPSON, Tramway Board Secretary, both of Christchurch, New Zealand. Improved means for use in displaying public information, advertisements, and the like.*


Claims.—(1.) Means for the purpose described, comprising, in combination, a drum formed with a number of curved circumferential indentations in its periphery, arranged in distinct peripheral lines and in progressive order around the periphery, means for imparting rotation to the drum, a number of levers pivotally supported in front of the drum with their back ends engaging the surface thereof and arranged in a line with the respective indentations therein, and cards bearing the matter to be displayed hung upon the outer ends of the respective levers, substantially as specified.

Improvements in or relating to machines for inserting fasteners or the like.*


Claims.—(1.) For a machine for inserting fasteners or the like, the combination with a driver that dwells at a point in its upstroke for the purpose of holding the head of a fastener in a raceway, of a separator that moves the shank of the fastener into the driver-passage while the head is thus
