THE following by-laws, made by the Feilding Fire Board, are published in accordance with the Fire Brigades Act, 1908.

THE FEILDING FIRE BOARD.
By-laws.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in it by the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, and of all and each and every other power in that behalf enabling it, the Feilding Fire Board makes and ordains these by-laws.
PART I.
Interpretation Clauses.
In these by-laws, except when inconsistent with the context, or when otherwise expressly provided,—
“Board” shall mean the Feilding Fire Board elected and appointed under the provisions of the Fire Brigades Act.
“Brigade” shall mean the Feilding Fire Brigade established and enrolled under the provisions of these by-laws.
“Corps” shall mean the Feilding Fire Police and Salvage Corps established and enrolled under the provisions of these by-laws.
“District” shall mean the Feilding Fire District as constituted under the Fire Brigades Act, 1908.
“Secretary” shall mean the Secretary appointed by the Feilding Fire Board.
“Superintendent” shall mean the Superintendent of the Feilding Fire Brigade appointed by the Feilding Fire Board.
“Station” shall mean any building in which any of the plant or property of the Board shall be kept.
“Street” shall mean any public or private street, and includes any public places, or public and private rights-of-way.
“Explosives” shall mean gunpowder, nitro-glycerine, dynamite, guncotton, blasting-powders, fulminate of mercury or of other metals, coloured fires, and every other substance, whether similar to those mentioned above or not, used or manufactured with a view to produce a practical effect by explosion or a pyrotechnic effect; and includes fog-signals, fireworks, fuses, rockets, percussion-caps, detonators, cartridges, ammunition of all descriptions, and every adaptation or preparation of exposives as above defined.
“Petroleum” shall mean and include all such rock oil, Rangoon oil, Burmah oil, and any product of them, and any oil made from petroleum, coal, schist, shale, peat, or other bituminous substance, and any product of them, that gives off an inflammable vapour at a temperature of less than 110 degrees Fahrenheit, and shall also include kerosene, and every other distillate or product of petroleum, notwithstanding that it does not give off an inflammable vapour at less than 110 degrees Fahrenheit.
“Dangerous” goods shall mean and include nitro-glycerine, glonoine oil, painters’ spirits, eupione, benzine, gasoline, light naphtha, and all light mineral oils the specific gravity of which is less than 0·733 at a temperature of 60 degrees Fahrenheit. And shall also include any liquid stored in cylinders and liable to sudden expansion under heat.
