Notice to Mariners No. 4 of 1910.

THE following Notice to Mariners, received from the Port Officer, Melbourne, is published for general information:

VICTORIA.
Anderson’s Inlet.—Leading Beacons.

REFERRING to General Notice to Mariners dated 1st August, 1907, page 102, and subsequent Notice dated 31st August, 1909, mariners are hereby notified that two new leading beacons have been erected about 400 ft. to the eastward of the old beacons, to mark the entrance to Anderson’s Inlet, and are in a line on a bearing of about N. ½ E. The front beacon shows a triangle-shaped top, and the inner or rear beacon an inverted-triangle top. The beacons are painted red, but may be altered in colour to suit the background. The old beacons will be removed as soon as possible.

Treaty of Commerce and Navigation with the Government of Honduras denounced.

Wellington, 15th January, 1910.

IT is hereby notified that a despatch has been received from the Secretary of State for the Colonies stating that the Government of Honduras has denounced the Treaty of Commerce and Navigation with Great Britain dated the 21st January, 1887, and therefore the treaty will, in accordance with Article 16 thereof, be terminated on the 6th October, 1910.

Varied Notice fixing Closing-hours of Hairdressers’, News-agents’, and Tobacconists’ Shops in the Town District of Otatau under the Shops and Offices Act.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the hairdressers’, news-agents’, and tobacconists’ shops in the Town District of Otatau, has been forwarded to me desiring that all such shops in the town district shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows—1 p.m. Wednesdays, 11 p.m. Saturdays, and 9 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays: And whereas the Otatau Town Board has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the hairdressers’, news-agents’, and tobacconists’ shops in the Town District of Otatau:

Now, therefore, I, John Andrew Millar, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of “The Shops and Offices Act, 1908,” do hereby direct that, from and after the 24th day of January, 1910, all hairdressers’, news-agents’, and tobacconists’ shops in the Town District of Otatau shall be closed in accordance with such requisition. The notice gazetted on the 22nd December, 1904, fixing the closing-hours of all shops, is hereby varied accordingly. Dated at Wellington, this 19th day of January, 1910.
