THE following special order, made by the Lower Hutt Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908."

LOWER HUTT BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Special Order levying a Rate of 1½d. in the Pound re £10,000 Loan.
Passed 13th December, 1909. Confirmed 10th January, 1910.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908," the Lower Hutt Borough Council hereby resolves as follows : That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £10,000, authorised to be raised, from the Minister of Finance, by the Lower Hutt Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the construction and provision of sewage and surface-drainage works (including the taking or acquisition of lands and other rights)—£9,000 to be appropriated for sewage drainage, and £1,000 for surface drainage—the said Lower Hutt Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1½d. in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the whole of the Borough of Lower Hutt ; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 4th day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
Confirmation.
It was further resolved that the above resolution be submitted for confirmation at an ordinary meeting of the Council to be held in the Council Chambers, Main Street, Lower Hutt, at 7.30 p.m., on Monday, the 10th day of January, 1910.
The common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Lower Hutt was affixed hereto, this 10th day of January, 1910, pursuant to a resolution of the said Council, in the presence of—

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

WESTPORT BOROUGH COUNCIL.
In accordance with "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908," and the amendment thereto, I hereby give notice that on Tuesday, the 21st December, 1909, a proposal was submitted by the Westport Borough Council to the ratepayers of the borough for raising a special loan of £1,000 for the construction of municipal wimming-baths, and that the number of
votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows : For, 139; against, 223; informal, 6.
And I declare the said proposal to be rejected.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan of £10,000 over Parts of Onewhero and Te Akau Ridings.
PURSUANT to the provisions of section 13 of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908," I hereby notify that the following is the result of the poll of ratepayers taken over the Tuakau Bridge, Wairamarama Special Rating District, on the 11th day of January, 1910, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £10,000 for the purpose of forming and metalling certain roads in the Onewhero Riding of the County.
Number of valid votes recorded, 188. Against the proposal, 115. For the proposal, 73.
The number of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal being less than three-fifths of the total number of valid votes recorded, I hereby declare the proposal to be lost.

THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand having reasonable ground for supposing that the company whose name and address are shown in the Schedule hereunder is engaged in an immoral business or undertaking, it is hereby ordered, under section 28 of "The Post and Telegraph Act, 1908," that no money-order in favour of the said company shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to the said company (either by its own or any fictitious or assumed name), or to such address without a name, shall be either registered, forwarded, or delivered by the Post Office of New Zealand.
