Special Order made by the Council of the Borough of Onehunga.

THE following special order, made by the Onehunga Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.”

ONEHUNGA BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Copy of Special Order striking Special Rate.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1908,” the Onehunga Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £550, authorised to be raised by the Onehunga Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of completing the undertakings in respect of which the loan of £16,400 was raised—namely, for the purpose of constructing extensions and additions to the existing water-works in the Borough of Onehunga—the said Onehunga Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 5/16d. in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Onehunga; bounded towards the north by Mount Smart Road, towards the east by Section No. 17, Suburbs of Auckland, towards the south by the Manukau Harbour, and towards the west by Section No. 13, Suburbs of Auckland; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of October and the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-nine years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the City of Auckland, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.”

CITY OF AUCKLAND.

“The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” and the Amendments thereof.

I HEREBY give notice that the result of the poll of the rate-payers of the City of Auckland, on Wednesday, the 20th day of April, 1910, on the proposal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Auckland to raise a special loan of £225,000 for the purpose of the extension of and addition to the electric-power plant for the City of Auckland, was as follows: Number of votes recorded for the proposal, 390; number of votes recorded against the proposal, 146.

And I therefore declare the said proposal to be carried.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 15 of “The Land Act, 1908,” I, Joseph George Ward, Minister of Lands, do hereby authorise the laying-off of Everard and Athelstan Streets, in the Town of Rosebery Extension No. 1, Canterbury Land District, of a width of not less than 66 ft. each, instead of 99 ft.

GREAT SANDY STRAIT.—ADDITIONAL WHITE LIGHT, MOONBOOM.

NOTICE is hereby given that, on and after the 23rd instant, a white light will be exhibited from a pile at the southern end of the spit encroaching on the lead between Stewart Island and Moonboom, and the following directions should be observed: Keep the lights in line as usual until nearing the white light, then open them to the westward until the light is passed, when bring the lead into line again and proceed as formerly.
