Change of Name of “Mandeville and Rangiora Road District” to “Rangiora Road District.”

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the Board of the Road District of Mandeville and Rangiora, in the County of Ashley, has, by resolution adopted at an ordinary meeting thereof, requested that the name of that road district be altered from “Mandeville and Rangiora” to “Rangiora”:

• Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by “The Designation of Districts Act, 1908,” and “The Designation of Districts Amendment Act, 1909,” and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the name of the road district now known as “Mandeville and Rangiora” shall be and the same is hereby altered to “Rangiora,” and do assign the last-mentioned name to such road district accordingly; and also do hereby proclaim and declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the first day of September, one thousand nine hundred and ten, not being earlier than six months after the first publication thereof in the Gazette.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-first day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and ten.

New County of Tawera divided into Ridings, &c.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The Counties Act, 1908,” and “The Tawera County Act, 1909,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby divide the new County of Tawera, as constituted by the said Acts, into three ridings, to be called the Cass Riding, the Kowai Bush Riding, and the Springfield Riding, and declare that the boundaries thereof shall be those set forth in the Schedule hereto.

And I do hereby declare that two members shall be elected for the said Cass Riding, two members for the said Kowai Bush Riding, and three members for the said Springfield Riding. And I do further declare that Thursday, the twelfth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and ten, shall be the day upon which the election of the first Council of the said County of Tawera shall take place; and that Tuesday, the seventeenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and ten, at half past two o’clock in the afternoon, shall be the time, and the Road Board Office, at Springfield, shall be the place, at which the first meeting of the said Council shall be held.

SCHEDULE.

Cass Riding.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District bounded towards the north-west by Westland County from the westernmost corner of Block I, Davie Survey District, to Harper’s Pass; thence towards the north-east generally by Waipara County to the north-western corner of Ashley County; thence towards the east generally by Ashley County to the Waimakariri River; thence by a line along the middle of the Waimakariri River to the confluence of Staircase Gully with that river; thence towards the south-east generally by Staircase Gully to its northern source near Mount Torlesse; thence by a right line to Mount Torlesse; thence by a right line to the easternmost source of the stream which runs through Blocks VI, V, and IX, Kowai Survey District, to McFarlane’s Creek; thence by
