United Borough of Invercargill to be an Undivided Borough, &c.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by Proclamation dated the twenty-second day of December, one thousand nine hundred and nine, and gazetted on the same date, the theretofore-existing Boroughs of Invercargill, Gladstone, Avenal, North Invercargill, and East Invercargill were constituted one united borough by the name of the “Borough of Invercargill”:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the powers vested in me by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” do hereby proclaim and declare,—

  1. That the said United Borough of Invercargill be an undivided borough.

  2. That the Council of the said United Borough of Invercargill shall consist of twelve Councillors, exclusive of the Mayor.

  3. That until one uniform system of rating shall be brought into force throughout the whole of the said United Borough of Invercargill rates may be made and collected separately in each or any of the parts of the said united borough consisting of the previously existing boroughs upon the systems of rating in force in each of those parts respectively immediately before the constitution of the said United Borough of Invercargill.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this ninth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and ten.

Additional Land at Pareora, in the Patiti Survey District, taken for the Purposes of the Hurunui–Waitaki Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of the Hurunui–Waitaki Railway to take further land at Pareora, in the Patiti Survey District, in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections twenty-nine and one hundred and eighty-eight of “The Public Works Act, 1908,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes above mentioned.

SCHEDULE.

The parcel of land mentioned hereunder:—

In the Canterbury Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked W.R. 17735, deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon coloured green.
