Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Secretary to the Havelock Harbour Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.”

HAVELOCK HARBOUR BOARD.
Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.
I HEREBY give notice, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Havelock Harbour District, taken on the 23rd day of March, 1910, upon a proposal to raise a special loan of £750 for dredging and improving a channel from Cullen’s Point to Havelock Wharf, including portion of the expenditure incurred on dredging plant in use and works in hand, the number of votes recorded for and against the proposal was as follows: For the proposal, 28 votes; against the proposal, 11 votes.
And as the total number of votes given in favour of the proposal is more than three-fifths of the total number of valid votes recorded at the poll, I hereby declare the said proposal to be carried.

CHANGE IN LIGHT ON JACKSON HEAD BEACON, ENTRANCE TO QUEEN CHARLOTTE SOUND.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Wigham beacon lamp on Jackson Head has been changed for a Pintsch-gas light, and the light altered from a fixed light to an occulting light, giving 3 seconds’ light and 3 seconds’ darkness alternately. The focal plane of the new light is 55 ft. above sea-level, and the light will be visible all round the horizon, except when obscured by the land. It should be visible in clear weather for a distance of ten miles, and in exceptionally clear weather may possibly be seen to the full range for the height—viz., thirteen miles.

Forbidding Money-order and Postal Correspondence for S. Henry, Sydney.
THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand having reasonable ground for supposing that the person whose name and address are shown in the Schedule hereunder is engaged in advertising the treatment of diseases of the sexual organs, it is hereby ordered, under section 28 of “The Post and Telegraph Act, 1908,” that no money-order in favour of the said person shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to the said person (either by his own or any fictitious or assumed name), or to such address without a name, shall be either registered, forwarded, or delivered by the Post Office of New Zealand.

Notice of the Taking and Laying-off of Road through Makirikiri Native Reserve, Block XIII, Mangaone Survey District, Mauriceville County.
NOTICE is hereby given, by direction of His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, under the authority of section 93 of “The Public Works Act, 1908,” that the road described in the Schedule hereto was, on the 4th day of March, 1910, duly taken and laid off through the land specified in the said Schedule, under the authority of the Governor of the said Dominion, by Warrant dated the 7th day of August, 1909.

Kangaroo Acacia declared to be a Noxious Weed by the Maraetai Road Board.—Notice No. 1401.
