Notice of the Taking and Laying-off of Roads through Te Rewa No. 1 and Paeroa No. 1e5a Blocks, Blocks I and II, Clyde Survey District.

NOTICE is hereby given, by direction of His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, under the authority of section 93 of “The Public Works Act, 1908,” that the roads described in the Schedule hereto were, on the 31st day of January, 1910, duly taken and laid off through the lands specified in the said Schedule, under the authority of the Governor of the said Dominion, by Warrant dated the 6th day of December, 1909.

All in the Hawke’s Bay Land District; as the said areas are more particularly delineated on the plan marked and coloured as above mentioned, and deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District.

Schemes for distinguishing between the Live-stock of Different Owners by Ear-marking or otherwise.—Notice No. 1399.

Department of Agriculture, Commerce, and Tourists,
Wellington, 30th March, 1910.

IT is hereby notified for public information that this Department wishes to obtain, with a view to general adoption in New Zealand, the best system of distinguishing between the live-stock of different owners (by ear-marking or otherwise), and therefore proposes to appoint a Committee of pastoralists to report upon the merits of any systems that are submitted for that purpose.

Any person wishing to have a scheme considered by the Committee should forward to the Secretary of Agriculture, Commerce, and Tourists, Wellington, on or before the 31st July next, the following particulars:—

(1.) His name.

(2.) His telegraphic address.

(3.) His postal address.

(4.) Full details (with diagrams or specimens if possible) of the scheme.

(5.) The amount of single sum or royalty that would be required for the rights of the scheme if it were brought into operation by law.

The Department does not undertake to give effect to the recommendation of the Committee.
