Constituting the Town District of Mangaweka, in the County of Rangitikei.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it is enacted by “The Town Boards Act, 1908,” that the Governor may declare that any area wherein there are not less than fifty householders shall be a town district: And whereas a petition has been presented to the Governor by the inhabitants within the area mentioned and described in the Schedule hereto, praying that such area may be constituted a town district under “The Town Boards Act, 1908”:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by “The Town Boards Act, 1908,” and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the said area shall be a town district, and the same is hereby constituted a town district under “The Town Boards Act, 1908,” by the name of the Mangaweka Town District. And, in further pursuance and exercise of the said powers, I do hereby proclaim, declare, and appoint that the Board of Commissioners for the said district shall consist of five members.

SCHEDULE.

MANGAWEKA TOWN DISTRICT.

All that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point in the centre of the Main Trunk Railway line at the north end of the Mangaweka Tunnel, in Pouwhakarua No. 1b Block; thence north-westerly and northerly along the centre of the said railway-line to its intersection by the southern boundary of Section No. 35, Block X, Hautapu Survey District; thence along the southern boundary of that section to Terrace Road; thence north-easterly along the north-western side of that road, and south-easterly along the north-eastern side of the road forming the north-eastern boundary of Section No. 26, Rakautoru Village Settlement, to a point in line with the western boundary of Section No. 34; thence to and along the western boundary of that section to its northernmost corner; thence along the north-eastern boundary of the said Section No. 34 and its production to the middle of the Rangitikei River; thence generally southerly along the middle of that river to a point due east of the north end of the Mangaweka Tunnel; and thence due westerly to the place of commencement.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-second day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and ten.
