5th Battalion, Wellington (Centre or Ruahine) Rifle Volunteers.

Captain (Acting-Major) Alexander Burnet Charters to be Major. Date of commission, 1st December, 1909.

B Battery, New Zealand Field Artillery Volunteers.

Lieutenant Alexander Fowler Roberts to be Captain. Date of commission, 18th January, 1910.

1st Regiment, Otago Mounted Rifle Volunteers.

Lieutenant (Adjutant) William McGregor Turnbull to be Captain. Date of commission, 28th January, 1910.

Lieutenant (Pay- and Quarter-master) George James Robert Dormor to be Honorary Captain. Date of commission, 3rd February, 1910.

Appointment of Temporary Member, New Zealand Military Pensions Board, cancelled.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to cancel, under “The Military Pensions Act, 1908,” and as from the 2nd February, 1910, the appointment of

Major CHARLES MACKIE BEGG, New Zealand Medical Corps,

as a member of the New Zealand Military Pensions Board, which appointment (Gazette No. 3, of the 14th January, 1909) had effect only during the absence from the Dominion of Colonel William Edward Collins, Reserve of Medical Officers, New Zealand Medical Corps, who resumes duty as a member of the said Board as from the 2nd February, 1910.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve of the award of the Colonial Auxiliary Forces Long-service Medal to

Lieutenant (Pay- and Quarter-master) Robert Mitchell Irvine, 1st Battalion, Nelson Infantry,

he having a total service to 28th February, 1909, entitling him thereto of twenty years and thirty-nine days.
