Notice respecting Proposed Borough of Papanui, County of
Selwyn.

PURSUANT to section 117 of "The Municipal Corpora-
tions Act, 1908," His Excellency the Governor directs
it to be notified that a petition has been presented to him
praying for the constitution of the area described in the
Schedule hereto as a borough under the said Act, to be
named the Borough of Papanui. All persons affected are
hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to, or
petitions against, the constitution of the said borough which
they may desire to lodge within one month from the first
publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be
addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF BOUNDARIES OF PROPOSED BOROUGH OF
PAPANUI.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District bounded by
by a line commencing at the junction of Norman's Road
with Wairarapa Road; thence along the north-eastern side
of Wairarapa Road to Greers Road; thence along the south-
eastern side of Greers Road to Harewood Road; thence
across and along the north-eastern side of Harewood Road
to Reese's Road; thence along the south-eastern side of
Reese's Road to Sawyers' Arms Road; thence along the
south-western side of Sawyers' Arms Road to a point in line
with the southern side of Veitch Road; thence across
Sawyers' Arms Road and along the southern side of Veitch
Road to Boundary Drain Road; thence across and along the
eastern side of Boundary Drain Road to Tucker's Road;
along the southern side of Tucker's Road to its junction
with North Road; thence across and along the eastern side
of North Road to Daniell's Road; thence along the southern
side of Daniell's Road to Grimsey's Road; along the western
side of Grimsey's Road to its junction with Winter's Road;
thence across and along the southern side of Winter's Road
to Philpott's Road; thence along the western and south-
western side of Philpott's Road to the northern boundary of
the City of Christchurch; and thence along the northern

Special Order made by the Council of the Borough of Karori.

THE following special order, made by the Karori Borough
Council, is published in accordance with the pro-
visions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908."

BOROUGH OF KARORI.
I, CYRIL IRWIN DASENT, Mayor of the Borough of Karori, do
hereby certify that at a special meeting of the Council of the
Borough of Karori held on the 14th day of September, 1909,
the resolution hereinafter set out was duly passed, and, after
the same had been duly advertised in accordance with the
provisions of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,"
regulating the making of special orders, such resolution was
duly confirmed at a special meeting of the Council of the
said borough on the 12th day of October, 1909, such resolu-
tion being in the words and figures following:—
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908," the
Council of the Borough of Karori hereby resolves as follows :
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and charges
on a loan of £27,500, authorised to be raised by the Council
of the Borough of Karori, under the above-mentioned Act,
for tramway-construction, and the purchase and erection of
stone-crushing machinery and appurtenances, the said Coun-
cil of the Borough of Karori hereby makes and levies a
special rate of 1½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of
all property of the Borough of Karori, comprising the whole
of the Borough of Karori; and that such special rate shall
be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such
loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each
and every year during the currency of such loan, being a
period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
