About 15 acres swampy, about 20 acres open scrub and grass, and the balance green bush. Land flat along the river terraces towards the middle of the section, and broken country on the western boundary. Suitable for agricultural or pastoral purposes, preferably the latter, as the land is especially adapted for grass-growing. The forest consists of brown and red birch, with a few kowhai and ribbonwood on flats, with puka, karaka, and underscrubs. The soil on the flats is rather good alluvial wash, although stony in parts; on the terraces there is a gravelly loam, with granite and micaceous-schist boulders. Altitude, 1,000 ft. to 1,500 ft. above sea-level. Situate about seven miles from Warwick Junction Post-office. Accessible by river-bed and horse-track. Fronts the Maruia River opposite Walker’s Station. Access road along frontage. Exempt from rent for two years.
