Regulations for Deer-shooting, Grey District.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1908” (hereinafter called “the said Act”), I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby make the following regulations prescribing the deer-shooting season in the Grey District Acclimatisation District, comprising the County of Grey, and the conditions affecting the same, and also the form of license and the fee payable therefor.


REGULATIONS.

  1. FALLOW-DEER bucks may be taken or killed within the Grey District Acclimatisation District from the 24th day of March, 1910, to the 4th day of May, 1910, both days inclusive.

  2. Licenses to take or kill such deer may be issued by the Chief Postmaster at Greymouth on payment of a license fee of £2, in the form prescribed in the Schedule hereto, and subject to the said Act and these regulations. The number of such licenses shall not exceed fifteen: Provided that not more than one such license shall be issued to the same person.

  3. No licensee shall take or kill more than four bucks, and no buck shall be killed carrying antlers with less than four points.

  4. No doe or fawn shall be taken or killed on any pretext whatever; and no licensee shall allow any dog to accompany either himself or any attendant he may have with him.

  5. Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorising any person to sell any deer or portion thereof.

  6. Any person committing a breach of any of these regulations shall be liable, on conviction, to a fine not exceeding £20.

Regulations for Deer-shooting, South Canterbury.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1908” (hereinafter called “the said Act”), I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby make the following regulations prescribing the deer-shooting season in the South Canterbury Acclimatisation District (as defined in the New Zealand Gazette of the sixteenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-seven, comprising the Counties of Geraldine and Levels and part of the County of Mackenzie), and the conditions affecting the same, and also the form of license and the fee payable therefor.


REGULATIONS.

  1. FALLOW-DEER bucks may be taken or killed within the South Canterbury Acclimatisation District from the 1st day of April, 1910, to the 31st day of May, 1910, both days inclusive.

  2. Licenses to take or kill such deer may be issued by the Postmaster at Temuka, upon the recommendation of the secretary of the South Canterbury Acclimatisation Society, on payment of a license fee of £2, in the form prescribed in the Schedule hereto, and subject to the said Act and these regulations. The number of such licenses to be issued by the said Postmaster shall not exceed twenty: Provided that not more than one such license shall be issued to the same person.

  3. No licensee shall take or kill more than two fallow-deer bucks.

  4. No doe or fawn shall be taken or killed on any pretext whatever; and no licensee shall allow any dog to accompany either himself or any attendant he may have with him.

Notice of Intention to change the Purpose of a Reserve in the Nelson Land District.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS by “The Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908,” it is, amongst other things, enacted that the Governor may declare his intention to change, exchange, or alter the dedication of any public reserve now or hereafter vested in His Majesty or the Governor for any of the purposes named in Class II of the Second Schedule to the said Act, whether the same be granted or not; and in the case of any reserve made under the authority of section three hundred and twenty-one of “The Land Act, 1908,” if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to change the purpose of such reserve or any part thereof from the purpose or presumed purpose for which it was set apart to any other purpose, or if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to exchange any of the land comprised in such reserve for other land of equal value, to be dedicated to one or more purposes named in the said Class II, the Governor may, by notice gazetted, make such change, exchange, or dedication, as the case may be, and in such notice declare the manner and terms in which the same is intended to be so made:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908,” aforesaid, declare my intention to change the purpose of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto from public utility to scenery preservation.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Nelson Land District, containing by admeasurement 13 acres, more or less, being portion of Section No. 61, Square 170, Block I, Tutaki Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east and north by the main road, Murchison to Fern Flat; towards the east by Crown land, 790·5 links; towards the south by Crown land, 1050 links;
