A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the River Boards Act, 1908, as amended by the River Boards Amendment Act, 1910, it is among other things enacted that the Governor may, on petition signed by not less than one-fourth in number of the ratepayers of a river district, enlarge, alter, or diminish any such district :

And whereas a petition, signed as aforesaid, has been duly presented, praying that the Hutt River District, established under the said Act, may be enlarged, and that the boundaries thereof may be those set forth in the Schedule hereto :

And whereas it is expedient to grant the prayer of the said petition :

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the above-recited power and authority, do hereby proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the said district shall be those set forth in the Schedule hereto, and that this Proclamation shall come into force on the fifteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and ten.

SCHEDULE.

HUTT RIVER DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at the south-western corner of the Borough of Lower Hutt, being the south-eastern corner of Section No. 79, Block XIII, Belmont Survey District; thence easterly along the southern boundary of the said borough to a point in line with the boundary-line between Sections Nos. 7 and 8, Block XIII aforesaid; thence southerly by a right line to and by that boundary-line and its production to high-water mark of Wellington Harbour; thence easterly along high-water mark of Wellington Harbour to and across the mouth of the Hutt River, and by the southern boundary of the Borough of Lower Hutt to the south-eastern corner of the said borough; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of the Borough of Lower Hutt to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 225, Block XIV, Belmont Survey District; thence westerly along the northern boundary of that section and part of the northern boundary of Section No. 34 to the south-eastern corner of Section No. 36, Block IX; thence northerly along the eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 36 and 39, Block IX aforesaid, to the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence westerly along the northern boundary of that section to the boundary of the Borough of Lower Hutt; thence along the boundary of that borough to the north-western corner of Section No. 47, Block IX aforesaid; thence southerly along the western boundary of that section to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 46, said Block IX; thence westerly along the northern boundary of that section to the western side of the Main Hutt Road; thence northerly along the western side of that road to a point in line with the northern boundary-line of Section No. 50, Block IX, Belmont Survey District; thence easterly to and along the said northern boundary-line of the said Section No. 50 to the road forming part of the eastern boundary of Section No. 53, Block IX aforesaid; thence across that road and along its eastern side to Section No. 45, Block X, Belmont Survey District; thence along the western and northern boundaries of the said Section No. 45 to the southernmost corner of Section No. 228, Block X aforesaid; thence along the western and north-western boundaries of that section, and along the north-western boundaries of Sections Nos. 69 and 68, Block X aforesaid, and along the north-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section to the road at its north-eastern corner; thence across that road and along the north-western boundaries of Sections Nos. 66 and 205, Block X aforesaid, and Section No. 204, Block IV, Belmont Survey District, to the southernmost corner of Section No. 81, said Block IV; thence along the south-western boundary of the last-mentioned section to its westernmost corner; thence along a right line to the south-eastern corner of Section No. 196, Block IV aforesaid; thence westerly along the southern boundary of that section to the north-western corner of Section No. 178; thence south-westerly along the north-western boundaries of Sections Nos. 178 and 179, Block IV aforesaid, to the south-western corner of the latter section; thence across a road and along the northern and north-western boundaries of Section No. 187, Block IX, Belmont Survey District, and the north-western boundaries of Sections Nos. 60, 57, and 54, Block IX aforesaid, and along the southern boundary of the last-mentioned section to the eastern side of the Hutt Railway Reserve; thence along the eastern side of the said railway reserve to the south-western boundary of Section No. 37, Block IX aforesaid; thence westerly along the southern boundary of the said Section No. 37 and part of the northern boundary of Section No. 75, Block VIII, Belmont Survey District, to the north-western corner of the said Section No. 75; thence south-westerly along the
