I HEREBY give notice that the number of valid votes recorded for the several candidates at the election of member of the Education Board of the District of North Canterbury (South Ward), held on the 31st day of October, 1910, is as follows, to wit :—

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

Reserve in Marlborough Land District for Lease by Public Auction.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned reserve will be offered for lease by public auction at this office, at noon on Friday, the 30th day of December, 1910, under the provisions of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908.

Weighted with £200, valuation for improvements consisting of good four-roomed house and scullery, clearing, grassing, and fencing. Situated on main Blenheim-Nelson coach-road, about twenty miles from Havelock. About 35 acres level land, remainder undulating; well watered.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF LEASE.

  1. The lease shall be for a term of fourteen years from the 1st day of January, 1911 (subject to termination by twelve months’ notice in the event of the land being required by the Government).

  2. Possession will be given on the 1st day of January, 1911.

  3. Six months’ rent at the rate offered, £1 1s. lease fee, and the value of the improvements must be paid on the fall of the hammer.

  4. The rent shall be payable half-yearly in advance, free from all deductions whatsoever.

  5. The lessee shall not be entitled to have or receive any compensation or allowance whatsoever by reason of such resumption, or in respect of any improvements effected by him upon the said lands; but he may, on the expiration or sooner determination of the lease, remove all buildings and fences erected by him.

  6. The lessee shall not sublet, transfer, or otherwise dispose of his interest in the land comprised in the lease, except with the consent of the Commissioner of Crown Lands.

  7. The land shall not be cropped or broken up except with the consent of the Commissioner of Crown Lands.

  8. The lessee shall destroy all rabbits on the land, and he shall prevent their increase or spread to the satisfaction of the Commissioner of Crown Lands.

  9. The lessee shall prevent the growth and spread of gorse, broom, sweetbriar, or other noxious weeds on the land comprised in the lease; and he shall, with all reasonable despatch, remove, or cause to be removed, all noxious weeds or plants, as may be directed by the Commissioner of Crown Lands.

  10. The lease shall be liable to forfeiture in case the lessee shall fail to fulfil any of the conditions of the said lease within thirty days after the date on which the same ought to have been fulfilled.

  11. The lessee shall permit travelling stock to rest on the land on application, and on payment beforehand being made according to the following scale: Per head, per night:—
