that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

Second-class Land.

Situated on the main coach road, about twelve miles from Wairoa, and half a mile from Marumaru Hotel. The sections comprise about 60 acres of ploughable land, and the balance low hills, and are well watered. The soil is light, and rather inferior, and rests on an inferior clay and pipe-chalk subsoil. The land is covered with a light second growth of manuka scrub, with native grass through it.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the twenty-third day of January, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to section one hundred and thirty-five of the said Act, as it contains, or is supposed to contain, metal, mineral, or valuable stone.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.-COROMANDEL COUNTY.-HARATAUNGA SURVEY DISTRICT.

Third-class Land.

Weighted with £7 10., valuation for 30 chains fencing.

Altitude, from 150 ft. to 600 ft. above sea-level. Hilly, broken country, covered with fern and manuka scrub, except about 40 acres of light mixed forest comprising a few ratatrees, tawa, cedar, rewarewa, and manuka, with light under-growth of ferns and supplejack. Soil of inferior quality, red clay in open country and loamy in forest, on slate formation; well watered by streams. Situated about two miles from Port Charles by formed track.
