EXTRACT FROM THE JOURNALS OF THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL, FRIDAY, THE 10TH DAY OF DECEMBER, 1909.

No. 3 of 1909.

RESOLVED, “That the report (No. 12) of the Lands Committee upon paper No. 76 of 1909, being a proposal to reserve certain lands permanently as endowments for primary education, brought up on Friday, the 5th day of November, be agreed to.”

BY-LAW OF THE TAI TAPU ROAD BOARD.

By-law of the Tai Tapu Road Board, made in pursuance of the Powers and Provisions contained in “The Road Boards Act, 1908.”

In pursuance of the aforesaid powers and provisions the Tai Tapu Road Board hereby ordains that gorse and broom be declared noxious weeds, under “The Noxious Weeds Act, 1908,” within the jurisdiction of the Board. This by-law was duly made by the Tai Tapu Road Board by special order duly passed and made on the 1st day of October, 1909, and duly confirmed on the 5th day of November, 1909, and was by the same special order ordered to come into force on the 1st day of January, 1910.

I hereby certify that the above-mentioned special order was duly passed in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1908.”

BOROUGH OF HAWERA.

I, HENRY WILLIAM SUTTON, Mayor of the Borough of Hawera, do hereby certify that at a special meeting of the Borough Council of the Borough of Hawera on the 24th day of November, 1909, the resolution hereinafter set out was duly passed, and, after the same had been duly advertised in accordance with the provisions of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” regulating the making of special orders, such resolution was duly confirmed at a meeting of the Council of the said borough on the 23rd day of December, 1909, such resolution being in the words and figures following:—

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” the Hawera Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £12,850, authorised to be raised by the Hawera Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of paying off the whole of a special loan heretofore
