HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to signify his pleasure, under section 54 (2) of “The Defence Act, 1908,” upon the dismissal from the New Zealand Defence Forces of
Captain FRANK BERNERS KNYVETT, No. 1 Company, Auckland Division, New Zealand Garrison Artillery Volunteers),
he having been found guilty of an act to the prejudice of good order and military discipline, and with effect from 31st December, 1909.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration in Boundaries of Borough of Napier.

PURSUANT to section 118 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” His Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that a petition in accordance with regulations, signed by not less than one-fourth of the electors of the area described in the Schedule hereto, has been presented to him, praying that the said area may be excluded from the County of Hawke’s Bay and included in the Borough of Napier. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to, or petitions against, the proposed alteration within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions are to be addressed and forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, situated in Blocks X and XI, Arowhenua Survey District, and Blocks I and II, Patiti Survey District, bounded by a line commencing at the southernmost corner of Reserve 884; thence northerly along the ocean beach to the Taitarakihl Creek; thence westerly along the right bank of the said creek to the Old Main South Road; thence southerly along that road to the Upper Washdyke Road; thence westerly along the south side of that road a distance of 5 chains; thence southerly by lines parallel to and 5 chains distant from the Old Main South Road to the northern boundary of Rural Section No. 1846; thence westerly along the northern boundary of said section to the western boundary of Lot 1 of that section; thence south-easterly along the south-west boundary of the said Lot No. 1 to the Waimataitai Creek; thence westerly along the right bank of the said creek to the western boundary of Section No. 2975; thence southerly along the western boundary of that section, and a right line in continuation of the same across the Wai-iti Road to the north branch of the Otipua Creek; thence south-easterly along the left bank of that branch and the main branch of the Otipua Creek to the western boundary of Reserve 1858; thence southerly and easterly along the boundaries of that reserve and Reserve 1856 to the ocean beach; thence northerly along the ocean beach to the Timaru Borough boundary; thence generally westerly, northerly, and easterly along that boundary to the commencing-point.

Approval of Fees for Licensing of Vehicles fixed by By-law, Featherston County Council.

IT is hereby notified, in accordance with section 107 of “The Counties Act, 1908,” that so much of the By-law No. 1 made by the Featherston County Council and sealed on the 17th day of December, 1909, as appoints the several sums to be paid to the Featherston County funds for the licensing of vehicles has this day been approved by His Excellency the Governor.
