Opening Lands in Nelson Land District for Sale or
Selection.
PLUNKET, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by “The Land Act, 1908,” I,
William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion
of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-
Secretary in this behalf, as provided in section one hundred
and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the
lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for
sale or selection on Wednesday, the ninth day of March,
one thousand nine hundred and ten; and also that the
lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option
of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for
occupation with right of purchase or on renewable lease;
and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands
shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said
Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be
sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provi-
sions of “The Land Act, 1908.”

All hills and gullies, originally covered with bush, con-
sisting principally of birch, of which all but about 15 acres
along the eastern boundary of Section 13 is now burnt and
grown up with fern and scrub. Section 25 has a frontage to
the Stanley Brook—Wakefield Road, and is distant about
eleven miles from the Wakefield Railway-station. Section 13
has access by the Dovedale—Wakefield Road and by Hodgen’s
Valley Road, and is distant about thirteen miles from Wake-
field Railway-station.

Renewable Lease.
PLUNKET, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by “The Land Act, 1908,” I, William
Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby declare that the lands described in the
Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable
lease on Wednesday, the ninth day of March, one thou-
sand nine hundred and ten, at the rentals mentioned in
the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands
shall be leased under and subject to section one hundred and
thirty-five of the said Act, as they contain, or are supposed to
contain, metal, mineral, or valuable stone.

BULLER COUNTY.—MOKIHINUI SURVEY DISTRICT.
This section consists of broken country. Soil fair to good,
covered with heavy bush, containing principally rimu, brown-
birch, with tawhero, red-birch, rata, silver-birch, &c., inter-
mixed; thick underscrub of kihikihi, supplejack, mako-
mako, puka, &c. Fairly well watered. Situated two miles
from the Township of Seddonville. Has a frontage to the
Mokihinui-Karamea Road.
Exempt from rent for four years.
MURCHISON COUNTY.—MARUIA SURVEY DISTRICT.

This section consists of flat to undulating country, with
high and low sloping spurs. Soil fairly good; sandstone
and granite formation; timbered with forest, principally
brown-birch. Frontage to Maruia Valley Road. Fairly
well watered. Situated sixteen miles from Township of
Murchison, eight of which is a dray-road.
Exempt from rent for four years.

this thirty-first day of December, one thousand
nine hundred and nine.

Postmaster appointed to take and receive Statutory Declara-
tions.
PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the
two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of “The Jus-
tices of the Peace Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket,
the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
notify and declare that
WILLIAM NICHOLAS TREGONNING,
being a person holding the office of Postmaster under
“The Post and Telegraph Act, 1908,” at Eketahuna,
is authorised to take and receive statutory declarations
under the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of “The
Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.”
As witness my hand, this twenty-ninth day of De-
cember, one thousand nine hundred and nine.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of “The Land Act, 1908,” it is enacted that the Governor
may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed
or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown
lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
And whereas by the three-hundred-and-twenty-second section of the said Act it is provided that land temporarily
reserved under the said three-hundred-and-twenty-first section may, at the expiration of one month but not later than
six months after the publication in the Gazette of notice of such temporary reservation, be permanently reserved, and that
notice of such permanent reservation shall be published in the Gazette :
