Opening Lands in Hawke’s Bay Land District for Sale or Selection.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Land Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided in section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Monday, the twenty-first day of February, one thousand nine hundred and ten, and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1908.”

Opening Lands in Taranaki Land District for Sale or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Land Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided in section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Monday, the fourteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and ten; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1908.”

Situate on the Tirohanga Road. Access is from Whangamomona, distant about fifteen miles, five miles of which is dray-road, six miles 6 ft. formed pack-track, and the balance unformed road. The section comprises rough hills, with a few flats near the stream running through the centre, and is covered with a medium forest, comprising tawa, rata, rimu, &c., with tow hai and a few totaras on the spurs; dense undergrowth. The soil is vegetable mould and clay of medium quality, on a papa formation; well watered. Elevation, 500 ft. to 1,500 ft. above sea-level.

CLIFTON COUNTY.—POUATU SURVEY DISTRICT.

Weighted with £800, valuation for improvements, consisting of 210 acres bushfelling and grassing, £525; residence and outbuildings, £126; orchard and live hedges, £18; tracks, £80; fencing, £18; logging, £6; bridges and wire cage, £27. Situate on the Marco Road. Access is from Whangamomona, distant about eight miles by formed bridle-road. The section comprises rough hills, which have been partially cleared of forest. There are small flats on the streams. The remaining forest comprises tawa, tawhero, rimu, &c., with a dense undergrowth. The soil is of fair quality, on a papa formation; well watered. The section is subject to a mortgage of £295 to the Superintendent, Government Advances to Settlers Office.

Opening Lands in Nelson Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Land Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Wednesday, the ninth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and ten, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to section one hundred and thirty-five of the said Act, as they contain, or are supposed to contain, metal, mineral, or valuable stone.
