Opening National Endowment Land in Taranaki Land
District for Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by “The Land Act, 1908,” I, Wil-
liam Lee, Baron Plunket; the Governor of the Dominion of
New Zealand, do hereby declare that the national endow-
ment land described in the Schedule hereto shall be
open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the
fourteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and
ten, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and
I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under
and subject to the provisions of the said Act.

SCHEDULE
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.—OHURA COUNTY.—PIOPIOTEA
WEST SURVEY DISTRICT.
Second-class Land.

Weighted with £290 17s. 6d., valuation for improvements,
consisting of 187 acres bushfelling, £140 17s. 6d.; and 200
acres grassing, £150.
Situate on the Whakamaru Road. Access is from Tau-
marunui, distant about seven miles by a good horse-track.
The section comprises flat, easy-sloping, and steep country,
with good soil (except on flats, which are pumice-covered),
on a papa formation; well watered. The forest remaining
is heavy, comprising white-pine, rimu, tawa, matai, totara,
rata, hinau, &c., with a dense undergrowth. Elevation,
600 ft. to 1,900 ft. above sea-level.

this eighteenth day of December, one thousand

scribed in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection
on renewable lease on Thursday, the seventeenth day of
February, one thousand nine hundred and ten, at the rentals
mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the
said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions
of the said Acts.
