(3.) To strike out the words from “mixed” to “chocolate,” lines 4 to 15 inclusive, page 2, and to insert after the word “been” line 4, page 2, the following:—

“made of one fruit or piece of fruit or the like, such, for instance, as a date or prune or piece of date or prune.

“According to my invention the material composing the centre is reduced to small particles in a mincing-machine or rollers, and then placed in a mixing-machine where sweetening such as fine icing-sugar, and the flavouring, such as vanilla or lemon, is added. When thoroughly mixed the material is withdrawn from the machine and allowed to remain upon trays for three or four hours. The material may then be passed through a forcing-machine or shaping-rollers, and formed into small cylinders, cubes, or other required shapes of the bodies. These bodies are then covered with chocolate-solution in the ordinary way.”

(4.) To strike out lines 16 to 20 inclusive, page 3, and to insert instead the following: “Confection centres, according to my invention, may be made either of lemon-peel, orange-peel, dates, prunes, sultanas, raisins, figs, or currants.”

(5.) To strike out the word “ingredient,” line 1 of claim, and insert instead “the material”; to insert “mixing said particles with the required sweetening and” instead of “adding the required,” line 3 of claim; to strike out the words from “mixing” down to “chocolate” inclusive, lines 3 to 6 of claim, and to insert instead “and then forming the mixed material into centres of the desired shape.”

The applicant states: “My reason for making this amendment is to more fully describe the invention and its application.”

No. 26676.—L. G. Grace.—Siphon apparatus. (Advertised in Supplement to New Zealand Gazette, No. 96, of the 18th November, 1909.)

The nature of the proposed amendments is as follows:—

(1.) To strike out the words “a combination interchangeable and convertible pump and,” lines 4 and 5, page 1, and insert instead “an improved.”

(2.) To strike out the words “a combination interchangeable and convertible,” line 9, page 1, and insert instead “an improved.”

(3.) To insert after the words “the use of a,” line 29, page 4, the following: “a short-lengthed enlargement of the lower end of the ascending member of a siphon enlarged to such a degree that by a short stroke of the piston-rod liquid contained in the enlargement would pass into the siphon members to fill the same and establish the flow therein and working in such enlarged short length.”

(4.) To alter the word “on” to “near,” line 1, page 5.

The applicant states: “My reason for making the amendment is for the purpose of more fully describing and illustrating the invention.”
