Fairly easy country along frontage, broken at back; covered with mixed forest, comprising rimu, rata, tawa, and towai; clay soil, on sandstone formation; well watered. Section 7 consists mostly of plateau land, lying at an elevation of about 1,900 ft. above sea-level; covered with forest, comprising rimu, rata, and towai; the forest on the plateau is mostly towai, with thick undergrowth of toetoe and ferns; wet moss country; clay soil, on sandstone formation. Section 8: Altitude, from 1,700 ft. to 1,800 ft. above sea-level. Moderately broken land to easy country at back; covered with mixed forest, comprising rimu, rata, towai, and tawa; clay soil, on sandstone formation; well watered. Sections are situated from nine to about twelve miles from Kaihu Railway-station —two miles by dray-road, balance partly formed and in course of construction.

About 3 acres of Section 1 in grass, and 3 acres partly grassed; balance of sections covered with mixed forest, comprising rimu, kahikatea, taraire, tawa, towai, birch, rata, and kohekohe, with dense undergrowth of supplejack, toetoe, nikau, and kiekie. Soil of fair quality, on sandstone formation; well watered by small streams. Distant two to three miles from Kaihu Railway-station by road in course of construction.

Soil inferior to good light loam, on sandstone formation; well watered. Situated about nine miles from Okoroire Railway-station and about two miles from a creamery. The improvements, included in the price of the land, are: Section 66, 243 chains fencing, value £91 2s. 6d.; Section 66A, 65 chains subdivisional fencing and half-share of boundary-fence, 37 chains, value £47 15s.

Weighted with £25, valuation for shepherd’s hut, which sum must be paid immediately the applicant has been declared successful.
Section 32A comprises mixed agricultural and pastoral land, partly ploughable. Soil is a light black loam, with a subsoil of clay and gravel. Stony faces occur on some of the ridges, and in such places tussock and surface-sown grasses exist. All portions previously ploughed carry good grass, and other parts are tussock-covered. Well watered, especially in the western portion, by Fuchsia Creek. Suitable for building. The improvements, which are included in the price of the land, consist of half-value of 15 chains of wire fencing on north-western boundary; half-value of 63 chains of wire fencing on south-western boundary; half-value of 32 chains of wire fencing on south-eastern boundary: total value, £19 5s. On the north-western portion of the section is a clump of about half a dozen large blue-gum trees.
Section 38A consists of pastoral land. Soil a light black loam, on a subsoil of clay and gravel. Hill country. Stony
