My LORD,—I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your despatch No. 65 of the 18th of July, and to inform you that His Majesty will not be advised to exercise his power of disallowance with respect to Act No. 1 of 1909 of the Parliament of New Zealand, entitled “An Act to amend temporarily the Law relating to the Public Revenues, and also to authorise the Raising of Money in Aid of certain Public Works and Purposes.”

THE following special order, made by the Dannevirke Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.”

DANNEVIRKE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Dannevirke Borough Council held on the 21st day of August, 1908, it was resolved,—
That the Dannevirke Borough Council doth hereby, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and their amendments, and all other Acts and powers (if any) enabling it in that behalf, resolve (by special order) to borrow the sum of £1,500, being an additional 10 per centum. of the £15,000 Sanitary Drainage Loan, as authorised by a poll of ratepayers taken on the 12th day of May, 1904, for the purpose of completing the said sanitary drainage scheme.

DANNEVIRKE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Special Order making Special Rate.—Loan of £1,500.—Sanitary Drainage.
Public notice is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Dannevirke Borough Council held on the 21st day of August, 1908, a resolution was passed that, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Dannevirke Borough Council hereby resolves that, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund and other charges on an additional loan of £1,500 (such additional loan being 10 per centum of the original loan of £15,000 raised by the Dannevirke Borough Council, for the purposes of a sanitary drainage scheme for the borough), authorised to be raised by the Dannevirke Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the proper completion of the sanitary drainage scheme, the said Dannevirke Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/5d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Dannevirke, comprising the boundaries as set forth in the Schedule to the said resolution; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of August and the 1st day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

PAHIATUA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order authorising the Raising of a Bridge Loan under Section 119 of “The Public Works Act, 1908.”
THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” and by virtue of a Warrant dated the 19th day of April, 1906, issued under the hand of His Excellency the Governor, in terms of section 118 of “The Public Works Act, 1905,” the Pahiatua County Council hereby resolves, by way of special order, as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the Pahiatua County Council’s share of the cost of constructing a bridge over the Manawatu River, near Ashhurst, known as the Lower Gorge Traffic-bridge, the said Pahiatua County Council hereby authorises the raising of a loan of £855 18s. 2d. at 3½ per centum per annum for a period of forty-one years.
I hereby certify that the above special order was duly made and adopted at a special meeting of the Pahiatua County Council on the 4th September, 1909, and confirmed at a meeting of the said Council on the 9th October, 1909.

PAHIATUA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order striking Special Rate.
That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” the Pahiatua County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £855 18s. 2d., authorised to be raised by the Pahiatua County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, to provide the said Council’s share of the cost of constructing the bridge over the Manawatu River known as the Lower Gorge Traffic-bridge, the said Pahiatua County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/100d. in the pound upon the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property of the special-rating area comprising the whole of the County of Pahiatua; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years at 3½ per centum per annum, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above special order was duly made and adopted at a special meeting of the Pahiatua County Council on the 4th September, 1909, and confirmed at a meeting of the said Council on the 9th October, 1909.
