Special Order made by the Council of the Borough of Levin.

THE following special order, made by the Levin Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.”

LEVIN BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Special Order making Special Rate.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its amendments, the Levin Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £18,000, authorised to be raised by the Levin Borough Council, under sections 7 to 13 and 16 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the purpose of constructing waterworks for the Borough of Levin, the said Levin Borough Council hereby makes and levies (by special order) a special rate of 1 7/20 d. in the pound upon the capital value of all the rateable property of the whole of the said Borough of Levin; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

We hereby certify that the above is a true copy of the special order made at a special meeting of the Levin Borough Council held on the 4th day of May, 1908, the same being duly confirmed at an ordinary meeting of the said Council held on the 1st day of June, 1908.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Hastings, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.”

BOROUGH OF HASTINGS.

In the matter of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” and the Acts amending the same respectively.

I HEREBY give notice that on the 27th day of January, 1909, a proposal was submitted by the Hastings Borough Council to the ratepayers of the Borough of Hastings for raising a special loan of £30,000 for the purpose of sewer-extension, and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows: For the proposal, 278; against the proposal, 349; informal, 25.

And I declare the said proposal to be rejected.

OTAKI ROAD BOARD.
Result of Poll on Loan Proposal.

In the matter of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.”

I HEREBY give notice that on the 27th January, 1909, a proposal was submitted by the Otaki Road Board to the ratepayers of the Special District No. 9 for raising a special loan of £200 for the purpose of metalling and forming streets and footpaths of Bell, Kirk, and Lemon Streets, Otaki Extension, and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows: Total votes on roll, 45; total votes for the proposal, 11; total votes against the proposal, 4.

I therefore declare the said proposal duly carried.

TE AWAMUTU TOWN BOARD.

PROPOSAL to raise a special loan of £800, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” for the construction of yards, buildings, fittings, and approaches for a market for the sale of cattle and other property.

A poll of the ratepayers of the Te Awamutu Town District on the above proposal was taken on the 7th day of January, 1909, when the votes recorded were as follows: For the proposal, 62; against the proposal, 9.

I therefore declare the proposal duly carried.

WANGANUI BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Notice under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.”

I HEREBY publicly notify that at the poll taken on the 27th day of January, 1909, on the proposal of the Wanganui Borough Council to borrow the sum of £12,000 for the purpose of extending and enlarging the borough gasworks, and for the purpose of laying mains, &c., to supply gas within the Borough of Wanganui, the Borough of Wanganui East, and the Town District of Gonville, the following votes were recorded: For the proposal, 110; against the proposal, 21; informal, 1.

I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 15 of “The Land Act, 1908,” I do hereby authorise the laying-off of Hall Street, in the Township of Napier South Subdivision No. 1, Hawke’s Bay Land District, of a width of not less than 66 ft., instead of 99 ft.
