Notifying Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale by Public Auction.


PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Friday, the seventh day of May, one thousand nine hundred and nine, as the time at which the lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

Notifying the Proposed Exchange of Crown Land in the Otago Land District for other Land.


PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and forty-two of “The Land Act, 1908,” it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor, whenever he deems it expedient in the public interest, to grant in fee-simple any area of Crown land which is subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1908,” in exchange for the fee-simple of any other land which in his opinion is of approximately equal value, and that all land acquired by the Crown by any such exchange shall become Crown land and be subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1908”:

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to exchange the Crown land described in the first column of the Schedule hereto for the land described in the second column of the said Schedule, and the owners of the land described in the second column of the said Schedule have agreed to such exchange:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the said section one hundred and forty-two, doth hereby declare that it is his intention to grant in fee-simple the area of Crown land described in the first column of the Schedule hereto in exchange for the fee-simple of those areas of land described in the second column of the said Schedule.


SCHEDULE.

Description of Crown Lands authorised to be exchanged. Description of Land to be obtained in Exchange therefor.
All that area in the Otago Land District, containing 1,600 acres, more or less, being portion of Pastoral Run 236B, situated in Tarras and Cluden Survey Districts, and bounded as follows: From the intersection of south-west boundary of Run 236B and Lindis Burn, along said south-west boundary for about 130 chains; thence in a north-east direction at right angles to this for about 120 chains; thence again at right angles and parallel to first line to the Lindis Burn; thence south-west along Lindis Burn to starting-point: the distances to give the required area, subject to all roads found necessary on survey: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L.50972/209, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured green. All that area in the Otago Land District, containing in the aggregate by admeasurement 1,187 acres 3 roods 30 perches, more or less, being Pre-emptive Rights A, B, C, and D on original Run 235; Pre-emptive Rights A, C, D, and G on original Run 236; Pre-emptive Rights A, B, C, and D on original Run 237; Pre-emptive Rights A, B, and C on original Run 238; Section 1, Block XVI, Tarras District; and Section 2, Block I, Cluden District: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 50972, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured pink.
